Best of 2016: Top 25 golf courses in Ohio

Ohio is a state that is far more well known for its exclusive private courses than its public offerings, but that doesn't mean golfers aren't playing exceptional rounds themselves. The top 25 courses in Ohio feature an eclectic mix of courses in all parts of the Buckeye State, from Cleveland in the north to Columbus and Cincinnati farther south. Like many parts of the country, area golfers have had the benefit of certain private clubs opening their doors in recent years, and they're earning strong marks from golfers by opening up their tee sheets. The land of Jack Nicklaus, this list has no designs from the Golden Bear, but features designs from Tom Fazio, Arthur Hills, Donald Ross, Michael Hurdzan-Dana Fry and more.

To compile our state lists, we used a similar method to that of our our national Top 50 ranking. A course's score is based on their overall (50%) rating and subcategory average (50%). Reviews are weighted based on how prolific that reviewer is on Golf Advisor, and a course receives a bump in their rating if their score is better than that reviewer's average score.

Are these really the BEST? I don't agree with some of these choices having played them regularly. I'm sure there are better public courses than the ones listed here. See my review of the #1 course in Ohio.

Where can I see your Reviews I can only play one round a golf when I'm in town from Florida

A list with the best Ohio courses that includes Raintree but not Boulder Creek is null and void.
