Best of 2016: Top 20 golf courses in Oregon

Most diverse golf state in the country? Pound for pound, it'd be tough to argue against Oregon. From the courses around Portland to the high desert in Central Oregon and of course, the true links at Bandon Dunes, there is a wide array of course styles, as well as pretty solid value in most places as well. It's also one of the better road trip destinations thanks to Pacific Ocean and Cascade Mountain scenery.

The Top 20 courses in Oregon, determined using your ratings and reviews on Golf Advisor from 2016, showcases a little bit of everything. Yes, Bandon Dunes is high on the list, but Bend and Central Oregon, including Sunriver Resort, has plenty of picks as well. But these courses aren't all household names, and local golfers know great secrets await in all corners of the state, whether it's near the Columbia River Gorge or downstate in more sparsely populated areas off the beaten path.

To compile our state lists, we used a similar method to that of our our national Top 50 ranking. A course's score is based on their overall (50%) rating and subcategory average (50%). Reviews are weighted based on how prolific that reviewer is on Golf Advisor, and a course receives a bump in their rating if their score is better than that reviewer's average score.

It would appear Mr. Tucker took every opportunity to sample Oregon's legalized marijuana while he was here.  That would be the only possible explanation in rating Sunriver - Woodlands as the top public access course in Oregon.

Haha sorry this list was actually determined based on our review community, not my personal tastes.
