Buddy Trip Captains: you're invited to experience Boyne Resorts

A view of green #16 at Moor from Boyne Highlands Resort

Dear Buddy Trip Captains,

If you haven't experienced the splendors of northern Michigan golf, isn't it time you discovered one of America's best summer golf destinations?

Have we got an opportunity for you.

Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs is one of the crown jewels of the Midwest. Not only is it home to four courses, but two stunning sister courses overlooking Lake Michigan are close by, in case you needed more reasons to play.

The resort is extending an exclusive invitation to buddy trip captains Aug. 28-30. Use this opportunity to see how good Boyne Highlands might be for your group.

The three-day, two-night trip is priced right, significantly below listed rates, and highlighted by four rounds of golf. A 36-hole day overlooking Lake Michigan will no doubt be the most memorable with a morning round at Crooked Tree Golf Club overlooking the water, followed by an afternoon round on the famed Top 100 combination of the Links/Quarry nines at the Bay Harbor Golf Club. Dinner at the luxurious Inn at Bay Harbor will end the day in style.

Accommodations for the trip are at Boyne Highlands, an alpine-inspired ski village with room for more than 1,500 guests in a charming main lodge, along with cottages, condos, townhomes and the Heather Highlands Inn. Two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners are included, so you'll get plenty of opportunities to sample the restaurants throughout the property. Four seasons worth of activities are ready if you have spare time - a spa, zip-lining, tennis courts, hiking and mountain biking trails, scenic chairlift rides and indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs.

A swag bag valued at $100 is your reward for signing up.

Why roll out the red carpet this way? The resort knows you're the decision-maker, the person who pulls the strings on where your group goes to play golf every year. Boyne, Michigan's largest golf operator with 10 courses, knows how to impress golfers, and they're confident you might return with more friends next time.

Just to be clear: There will be no hard sell on this trip. There are no strings attached.

I've been to Boyne Highlands a handful of times over the years, and I know golfers who go every year. They can't pass up the variety of courses. The course you will play on arrival day, the Arthur Hills introduces modern architecture at its finest - wide fairways, big greens, bold bunkering - with one of the most thrilling elevated tee shots anywhere. The Donald Ross Memorial (where tee times are scheduled on departure day) is a tribute course comprised of holes inspired by famous Ross designs that have hosted three Ryder Cups, eight U.S. Amateurs, 11 PGA Championships and 14 U.S. Opens. Contrast their architecture with The Heather, a walkable Robert Trent Jones Sr. classic home to several Michigan Opens. Some golfers love the Moor Course the best of the four.
