Where juniors can play free golf this summer

Today, golf courses across the country have made it easier than ever to get the whole family involved on the golf course. If you find that your kid stays inside all day long playing video games or sleeping till noon, now you can introduce them to a new summer hobby at no charge.

During the summer, and at some courses year-round, children can play for free with a paying adult. While golf is an expensive sport, taking advantage of this opportunity can work wonders for children. Some courses will provide a free set of rental clubs. Other clubs will provide free golf instruction for children as long as their parent or guardian has paid for instruction themselves.

• Ka'anapali Kai Course- One junior golfer between the age of 7 and 17, can play for free any time between June 1 and September 30 with a paying adult. Juniors can play or ride free with a paid adult on the Royal Course after 2:30 pm during the same time period.
• Kauai Lagoons Golf Club- Juniors ages 6 to 17 golf for free anytime on the Waikahe nine course with a paying adult.
• Princeville Makai- Junior golfers ages 6 to 15 play free with a paid adult. Junior golfers ages 16 to 17 play for half the adult rate. Non adult-sized club rentals are complimentary for juniors between 6 and 15 years-old and any junior is able to receive free instruction with a paid adult. The Mini Prince (6 holes, par-3 course) is complimentary for juniors ages 8 to 17 when playing with a paying adult.

• Columbus Park- Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only. Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play anytime Monday - Friday and after 11 am on the weekend.
• Deerpath Golf- Kids 14 and under play free on Sundays with a paying adult.
• Jackson Park- Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only. Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play Monday - Friday before 8 am and after 3 pm, and on the weekends after 2 pm.
• Marquette Park- Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only. Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play anytime Monday - Friday and after 11 am on the weekend.
• Robert A. Black- Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only. Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play anytime Monday - Friday Before 7am, 11am-2pm & After 6pm. On the weekends they can play before 7am & After 6pm.
• Ruffled Feathers- Kids 13 and under can play for free with a paid adult after 3 pm.
• South Shore- Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only. Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play anytime Monday - Friday and after 11 am on the weekend.
• Sydney Marovitz- Kids under 17 without a paying adult can play Monday - Friday before 7 am and on the weekends after 5. Kids 17 and under with a paying adult can play for free any day at any time, but walking only.

• Lakes Course At Queenstown Harbor- Kids 16 and under play free with a paid adult after 3:30 pm seven days a week.
