Power Rankings: Orlando's Eagle Creek is the top-rated golf course for the first half of November

At Golf Advisor, our Power Rankings series often provides an opportunity to highlight some under-the-radar courses who are punching above their weight. We have bucket-list courses top the rankings time-to-time, but courses you may have never heard that impress with great conditions, service or value are just as likely to earn the top spot.

This week's top course is a lesser known value option in a well known destination: Orlando's Eagle Creek Golf Club. The course opened in 2004 and is located near Lake Nona just northeast of Kissimmee. Designed by Ron Garl, the course can be played for under $50, even on the weekend.

Reviewer glenncoburn has reviewed nine courses for Golf Advisor, and has awarded three of them five stars, most recently Eagle Creek:

This was an excellent course and an excellent experience. I would recommend it highly. From getting out of the car to leaving every part of our day at Eagle Creek was just great. The course is lovely and in good condition even though the fairways were being over seeded. And Caitlin in the 19th Hole was a joy... thank you for such a great day.

You can view the rest of the top 10 based on reviews between Nov. 1-15, which includes some better known courses in Florida and elsewhere in the world, including St. Andrews, Scotland below.

Course review of the week

In Nevada near Las Vegas, Wolf Creek Golf Club is well known as a destination course with a one-of-a-kind desert setting. Sooner90, a Top 100 contributor on Golf Advisor, had this to say in his five-star review:

Teed off at 11 on a beautiful, but slightly warm day. Every hole is unique and challenging in it's own way. A stray tee shots are penalized, but a good tee shots will reward you with an easy shot on to the green. There are many burial grounds for prov1s so choose your weapon wisely. The greens were also tricky as they were fairly fast with very subtle breaks. This course would be even better with gps units on carts or even an alternative caddie service. Overall, an excellent course.
