Power Rankings: NoCal course tops February ratings and reviews

The first power rankings of 2018 have continued strong runs for some warm-weather courses that are consistently highly regarded by users.

No stranger to the top of the heap is Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, Calif., roughly halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco. The Troon Golf-managed facility is kept in such immaculate shape that it was honored as the top course in our final 2015 rankings and finished among the top 12 in 2016 and 2017.

THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, the No. 1 course in our 2017 rankings, followed not far behind in second place. Rounding out the top three is an international standout, the Jack Nicklaus Course at Vista Vallarta in the mountainous outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. With the cartel violence and negative publicity surrounding Mexico, it's good to hear that golfers can still enjoy a casual round without any fuss.

"The views are spectacular," wrote one reviewer of Vista Vallarta. "We had a great experience. I would highly recommend this course to others."

The remainder of the top 10 features some very well known U.S. courses in the Monterey Peninsula and Scottsdale. Click on each course to see what golfers like you have to say.

Where would you suggest in the USA to go play golf in February that’s reasonably priced?

It's NorCal, not NoCal. Great course though.

After I hit Powerball I’ll work my way through the list. Any chance you may do a New England edition to this list. Keep up the great work.

Not all those courses are pricy, like Delaware Springs, Chimera, even World Woods is relative value. WE did a year-end New England list that has some affordability on it: https://www.golfadvisor.com/articles/best-of-2017-state-new-england-17639.htm
