This week, one of Maui's best bargain courses tops GolfAdvisor's Power Rankings: Maui Nui Golf Club (formerly Elleair Golf Club), located just down the road from the prestigious Wailea Golf Club in south Maui.

I'm often asked about the price of golf on Maui, as readers and friends suspect there aren't many options beyond the lavish resort courses. But locals live on Maui too, and they need affordable courses, as do so many vacationers who may want a golf experience but not if it's over $100. That's where Maui Nui (as well as another personal favorite of mine, Kahili Golf Course) comes in quite handy.

While Wailea's Gold Course and Emerald Course command Top 100 rankings and green fees that can run north of $200, Maui Nui is an oasis of value golf. Golfers gave it a 4.86/5 rating for value, and staff friendliness was also equally impressive.
