Lexington Course at Revere Golf Club is a Las Vegas shotmaker's delight

HENDERSON, Nev. -- If you like elevated tees and great views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding mountains, then the Lexington Course at Revere Golf Club is your kind of golf experience. Of course, it comes with a catch: The Lexington Course, one of two Billy Casper-Greg Nash designed layouts at the Troon Golf-managed club, is also fairly difficult.

Fortunately, there are four sets of tees on this 7,143-yard, par-72 layout. It's not that it's particularly long, but the tee shots are more demanding than its sister design, Revere's Concord Course, and the greens are little more severe and difficult to read as well. And if you play it in the fall, right after overseeding, you're likely to find some pretty thick rough, which can really push the challenge.

But golfers need not fear the Lexington, which like the Concord carries American history war themes throughout, including the names of the holes. The first hole on the Lexington, for example, is named "Midnight Ride," the second is "Old Ironside," and the 13th is "Two if by Sea."

Throughout, golfers will find risk-reward opportunities, especially on the par 5s, and plenty of uneven lies, making the Lexington Course one of the more challenging golf courses in the Las Vegas area.
