Top 25 courses in Ohio according to Golf Advisor reviews in 2015

Ohio's stellar private golf clubs often litter most top 100 lists, so we're pleased to reveal the top 25 courses in the state, according to everyday golfers like you.

The land of Jack Nicklaus will certainly set a high bar for golf, whether it's a $20 round or a top-notch club like Muirfield Village or Scioto. We looked at the ratings throughout the state to find which courses fared best according to reviews. The result is a list that features designs from many of the top names in golf course architecture even if the course itself isn't among the architect's most well known. An early 1970s design from Tom Fazio, a rare U.S. design from legendary Canadian Stanley Thompson, plus numerous from Donald Ross and the team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry.

Ohio is certainly not among the top Midwestern golf destinations for public golfers when you consider northern Michigan or Minnesota or Wisconsin or Indiana's French Lick, but this also means green fees geared towards locals and a lot of hidden gems (labeled top 100-worthy by some) you may have never heard of, and the Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati metro areas all have some notable public layouts worth playing.

You can click on each course page to see detailed ratings and reviews of what golfers are saying about courses throughout the Buckeye State.
