Football season is welcomed by Phoenix locals, who know cooler weather is right around the corner. Phoenix-Scottsdale is an embarrassment of riches for multi-course golf facilities like Troon North, Boulders, Talking Stick and more.

You'll want to visit Lambeau Field soon if you plan on playing golf, too. The golf season is quite short, but a trip to Green Bay can be capped with golf at Whistling Straits just an hour away at Destination Kohler.

The South Course at Torrey Pines is the obvious must-play in a destination with plenty of great resort golf. Meanwhile, bargain course Coronado G.C. is a value favorite.

A visit to the Bay Area to see the 49ers means you're within a short drive of Alister MacKenzie's Pasatiempo, as well as TPC Harding Park and Half Moon Bay Golf Links among others.

In addition to 2015 U.S. Open host Chambers Bay, the Sea-Tac area is chock full of great public golf for any budget.
