We played in the north Myrtle Beach, Calabash area in mid to late April. The courses with the best greens were Long Bay and River Hills. Sandpiper Bay was in awful shape as were Crow Creek and Meadowlands.

Appreciate the info. Going to Ocean Isle, just north of Myrtle Beach, in July on a family holiday. Still planning to play a couple rounds. Will be sure to ask about the green conditions when making tee times.

Played 11 tracks in Myrtle beach the last 2 weeks of April: Indian Wells, Wilbrook, River Club, Litchfield, Blackmoor, Kings North, Pawleys, Wild Wing, Long Bay, TPC, and True Blue - all but True Blue were in great shape. True Blue was "playable" but certainly not worth the price.

Played Oyster Bay in early May, greens were bad. Played Carolina National on same trip, greens were horrendous ( they charged us $75 to play all 27 holes without any warning of condition. Not good policy if you ask me).

not surprised at C.National..I work at a course that was once part of their group..on 2 occasions they treated me and my guests like dirt

The Legends Moorland was in tough shape in the end of April with 18 looking like sea floor.

I was there in April. Caledonia, World Tour, BF Dye, were awesome. Rivers Edge 18 green was completely unplayable in my mind. Cheers

Recently played the Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, VA. Did notice some greens were suffering somewhat. Our playing partner informed us it was due to"winter kill". Regardless, the round was very enjoyable.

Not here in GA. Have played 3 private clubs in the past two weeks North of Atlanta. Despite the cold spring, the greens
were smooth and true (two with bentgrass greens and one with Champions) and winterkill was at a minimum in most fariways.
In my neighborhood, there are two public courses; their fairways are mostly green (maybe some winterkill in some shady spots that don't normally get enough sunlight and air circulation) but the greens, by and large are healthy and smooth.

Ross course had to close in 2015 as well due to Winterkill. You'd think they would learn?
