White Clouds golf course at Sun Valley Resort in Idaho

Sun Valley Resort in Idaho has a nine-hole White Clouds Course to go along with the 18-hole Trail Creek Course. While Trail Creek is a traditionally styled parkland course, White Clouds plays up into the hills on severe topography and with few trees in sight. Sitting above the resort, it affords beautiful views from just about every point. The course, designed by Don Knott, plays at more than 3,600 yards from the back tees and features back-to-back par 5s, including the 637-yard fifth hole.

The first and ninth holes play on low ground, while the other seven holes play on higher, seldom-flat terrain. Originally slated to be an 18-hole course, the second nine at White Clouds has been put on hold indefinitely.
