The Rope Rider Course, one of two golf courses at Suncadia Resort (located 80 miles east of Seattle), is an intriguing layout capable of challenging single-digit handicappers while still being lenient for higher handicappers -- generous fairways accept sprayed tee balls, and open greens allow balls to bounce in and roll toward the hole.
The Arnold Palmer-designed Prospector Course at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. challenges with tricky greens, and ponds that induce havoc on four holes. The dynamite 340-yard fifth hole tempts some visitors into trying to carry the full length of a wetland. The par-3 sixth hugs its opposite side. Another pond fronts the 412-yard, par-4 ninth hole and 540-yard, par-5 closing hole. And don't forget no. 10, which boasts an elevated tee and vistas that extend for miles into the Wenatchee Washington National Forest.
Great weather, coupled with three excellent golf courses, make the Suncadia Resort in Washington the premier golf resort in the state and one of the best in the entire Pacific Northwest. The 6,400-acre, master-planned community blends seamlessly into its secluded natural settings. There's no shortage of fun -- and sun -- at Suncadia Resort, Jason Scott Deegan writes.
