The par 71 features hole #12, touted as "the hardest par 3 I ever designed" by Pete Dye Photo submitted by u000003790453 on 09/20/2019
Great layout
To me a below average golfer this is a wonderful challenge. Due to recent rains it was pretty wet but still a great place to play.
I would rate this as one of the best courses I have ever played and I have been luck enough to play several great courses.
A solid test
Definitely a Pete Dye course. Not easy but fair. Solid value. I enjoyed the greens and the different types of shots required.
Excellent track
The McConnell golf group is exceptional. The cardinal is a great layout that is very well kept. Every Fairway lie that I had was great. Bunkers could use a little more sand but that's my only critique. Greens are rolling smooth right now.
First time playing this course and it was a joy, only complaint is that had a problem with knowing where the next holes where located other than that it was a nice course and the pace was great. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Great Course
Just wish the holes were marked. No signs or markers on course. Arrows on cart path would help.
Very nice course
Greens had been punched but still rolled nice. Course was in great shape. Would definitely play again.
Good Course
It was my first time playing it and I think I would enjoy it more next time because it’s tough to play when your unsure of where you should hit it. Tight fairways on the front but opened up more on the back. The greens were great and quicker than other bent grass greens I’ve played. It’s not my favorite spot in Greensboro (Forest Oaks takes that claim) but definitely a really good course
Great shape!
Course was in great shape. No one in front or back of us.
Excellent
Don't get any better place to play in Greensboro. If you have never played here you are missing out. Best place to play in the area in my opinion. Give this place an A plus.
No Sand
Great difficult Dye layout. Greens and fairways in good shape. Bunkers are empty, no sand, and there are many bunkers.
A lot of standing water as the ponds and creeks were full and water had no where to drain to.
Bad cleaning and rude staff
The guy I checked in with was quite rude, guessing because I was not a member!, I was however seriously considering becoming one! Even worse, I got a small bag of balls to hit on the range before teeing off and on returning to the kart I noticed an empty bottle had been left in the kart. Went back and asked if they cleaned the kart and got the reply not sure, I guess they do! In these crazy times I would think they would be a lot more strict with their cleaning. The course was in good condition but quite slow.
Good Layout
Played on a Thursday and went around in 3:40 even though we slowed down a bit due to heat and humidity. Greens and fairways were very good and the layout has you using every club.
