Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course

My friend and I had a late afternoon tee time with threatening weather. The pro shop was wonderful in working with us as to a rain check. Ultimately we played 18 holes without much rain. The staff was so accommodating - I was impressed!

The course was in good shape. I enjoyed playing it. However there is a hole with water and there was no sign water is--- yards. I did not know and hit my ball very good and ended up in the water because there was no sign. Other than that the course was fun to play

Played the Grey Course from the blue tees. Front nine had just been aerated but otherwise in pretty good shape. Generally the greens are in good putting shape and putts roll true. Tee boxes were a little thin but not bad. Lots of sand strategically placed add to the challenge. Staff here are friendly and accomodating. Foxfire is a great golf value in an area with a lot of competition. Will come back frequently

I am from Florida but visit this area a lot and love the golf up here because of the elevation changes of which you don't see in Florida. We played the Grey course and I would highly recommend this course. Great value and a very challenging yet fair layout. Great value for the money and course was in great shape.

This is an excellent course for all skill levels.

I've been coming to the area twice a year for the last 20+ years and for whatever reason had never played here before. We went there yesterday expecting to play the grey course because reviews online seemed to indicate that it was the preferred of the two courses on property. However, when we got there we realized that there were a bunch of people playing the grey course and virtually nobody playing the red course so we switched and played the red. Much to our pleasant surprise the layout was extremely enjoyable and challenging. The course conditions were very good (look, it is not Pinehurst or Pine Needles, but is as good as anything else in the area). Because we switched plans we were able to play in much less time than if we had stayed with our plan to play the grey course.

I will absolutely plan to play there during my future trips. I may even play there again before I leave this time. I highly recommend anyone in the area give it a try.

This course is beautiful. Though I didn't get the score I wanted, still my group I played with. Greens were a little hard that day. Short and tall grass were cut and manicured as expected. Fairways were pretty well taken care of. I do have one bad thing to say which I have not seen to many golf courses in my area to have in tack, tee boxes. Yeah, the tee boxes were not all that, but they are better than some others I have seen.

Wonderful facility. Loved playing and will return!

Foxfire Red Fox was one of four courses that our foursome played during a week of golf in the Pinehurst area. We played the course twice and both rounds were very enjoyable though our games were not really up to the challenge so early in the season. (Two members of our group had come down from PA.) We all found the greens to be quite challenging because few are flat. Considering the time of year, we thought the condition of the course was very good. My overall rating is based on layout and condition in relation to the other courses that we played. This was the second best course we played.

The course was in nice shape for the time of year. I enjoyed the course, not every shot was demanding but there were enough to keep it interesting. The greens were well protected by bunkers making approach shots very critical.

A little on the tight side. Out of bounds markers seemed to be everywhere. If you spray it a lot you won't score well but can't blame the course for that just bad course management. Only downside was recently punched greens. Course probably should've had a bigger discount for at least 1 more week.

The course was pretty good, with conditions that were very good. I enjoyed the course and the layout. The range left a lot to be desired and the putting green needs upgrading. Overall, it was pretty good. I would play this course again.

Course was in pretty good shape. This is a course that is on my list of must plays when in the area. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways. I always enjoy playing this course. It starts off with a par 5 which limits your tee shot to a long iron or hybrid. I always enjoy my rounds at Foxfire.

Most places in this area are pretty expensive. I paid 35 and really shouldn't complain. I would say to respect the 90 degree rule. It was a little mushy. The greens: if the grace is cut in that direction, that is where the ball will go!!!

My group played this course today and we were pleased with everything about Foxfire.
I STRONGLY disagree with the previous posts regarding staff unfriendliness because we were treated very kind and welcomed almost as members.
The course is in very good condition with the greens being in great shape and rolling at a fair speed.
Hats off to Jeff and his staff there because he has done an amazing job with the place. We look forward to returning in the fall to try the Grey Fox Course.

Staff wasn't friendly at all. No one staffing concessions at 10:40 am. pro shop personnel acted put out when we asked for a cup of ice. Didn't even offer up that the course didn't come back to the clubhouse at the turn. No cart girl either. Seems to me you would tell your guest that if no turn house to load up on ice and water. like I said acted like we bother him to ask for a cup of ice in the beginning. They have 2 courses also. no starter and had to ask other patrons where to go. WILL NOT BE BACK

Had a 7:33 tee time and the clubhouse didn't open until 7:35. First hole is a par 5 that requires an iron from the tee to keep from going in the water. Then the second hole requires a 200+ yard shot over 2 large bunkers that protect the par 3. Other than this quirky and unfair first 2 holes I totally enjoyed the course. For the discounted price I paid on Golf Now it was well worth the $. Over priced if you pay the standard rate.

The course was in pretty good shape, considering the tough winter it endured. It offers a nice variety of holes and the green were is very good shape. It was a good value for the area.

Last minute decision to play another round before leaving Pinehurst. This is great value for money. Can Pinehurst number 2 really be 20 times better at $530?

Greens in very good condition. We will return!
