Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Red Fox Course

This course was a real treat. Challenging yet fair! As a Veteran, I could not have spent a better Veterans Day. Great golf, great staff and an incredible course! Salute to Foxfire!

Took over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Sat on the 12th tee box for 20+ mins waiting to tee off. Not once did we see a Ranger to speed up play which was reported to the ProShop.

Fun course and great price. Several "shot-maker" holes on a very nice course. Had lots of fun!

Very playable course but disappointing conditions. Fairways were brown in spots, with clumps of mowed grass trimmings lying about. Greens were generally slow. Some tee boxes need seeding.

Foxfire was one of my favorite courses for years then course conditions fell apart so I stopped playing it but now with the new ownership its back to the course I once loved to play I will be back. Either course offers everything you could want! Try it and you won't be disappointed.

Good course layout and conditions. We have played at this course a handful of times and there have never been more than two people working between the golf shop, carts, food and beverage, and starter/ranger. This did create some awkwardness on Labor Day morning. The golf shop staff member was running around pulling up carts while no one was in the shop to allow guests to pay. Groups were arriving at the first tee with the expectation they could tee off when ready, rather than at their tee time. One group did have to get the golf shop worker to come out and settle which group would be teeing off first. No beverage cart and no halfway house staff.

great value for the cost, very enjoyable. great for locals or visitors from out of town. a jewel in the sandhills.

Course was a nice experience overall. Clubhouse staff was not friendly. He was indifferent which affects your overall experience, especially when it's your first visit. There are too many choices in the area for staff to treat you as they could care less if you are playing their course.

Great course but greens were just air rated Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value for the money. Definitely will play again!

Course was in great shape, especially since we caught it before they aerated. No complaints for the course at all, but would have been nice to have some grass on the driving range tee box.

My wife and I played the Red Fox course on a very hot and sultry NC day. The layout was nice with a few challenging holes. Like most courses many of the holes appeared the same however there were a few that did stand out. The course tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, rough and greens were in good shape.

Our one complaint was a dry $7.50 sandwich we bought from the cart girl. Too expensive and not very good.

You do need to hit a straight shot as the course has several challenging doglegs where you can easily get into trouble. There are a few water holes as well and nearly all holes are surrounded by pine trees.

The cart paths were not in good order and there was only one water point at the 9th hole. I was very hot, so there should have been extra water.

We had a good day of golf at the Red Fox course at Foxfire. Wide fairways and receiptive greens made this course comfortable, but still a challenge. The course has some elevation. Fairways and green in great shape.

Course is very playable for me and my wife. Conditions were very good. Greens rolled well and fairways were excellent. No rough to speak of unless you found the woods.

Had a lot of fun playing here. Course was in good shape. The East track has a nice layout. Found a great rate on GolfNow; glad I went to Foxfire. Will return for sure.

Course was in great shape. Greens were nice. Played with my 14 yr old son, who was free. Nice touch to support the juniors. We played from the tips, so with lots of 400+ yard par 4's it was a challenge, but fun. I think I hit every club in my bag.

The overall condition of the course was very nice and the greens were excellent.

Wonderful course, weather and value. Greens in good condition. Stay below the hole.

Enjoyed course. Poor course management. No starter. No ranger. Locals ran course. Played slow. Pace needs corrected.
