Surprising
Pulling up to club house the course looks fairly flat with few trees, some houses in middle. Most of course is below ridge with lots of trees and water. Even goes down to marshy area. I liked the course very much, good condition, decent layout.
Needs Work
Overall greens were in good shape but fairways had a lot of mowed grass and rough was very long and wet. We could only play the back nine twice as they had a high school tournament on the front nine so little more disappointing.
Great Course
The course was in great condition. Back 9 is more challenging than the front. Great staff, has full bar and restaurant. Recommend if in the area.
Things have gone downhill at Mission Mountain
I’ve played here several times over the past 25 years. Always enjoyed it and thought it was a nice course and good value, but yesterday in addition to bare spots, muddy areas, and rough tee boxes, the greens were shaggier and slower than any course I think I’ve ever played. It was extremely frustrating.
Worst course condition I’ve ever seen
Played this course today and it was truly the worst conditions I’ve ever seen on a golf course. Every fairway was 50% dirt and the majority of the greens had dirt around the fringes. They had sprinklers running on multiple fairways and on while putting on the green. The practice putting green had 8 inch weeds growing in the middle of it and the greens were the slowest I’ve ever putted. The greens were over saturated and didn’t look like had been cut in the past week. The clubhouse said their irrigation went out this summer but that should be clearly stated or mentioned before golfing because it was a complete waste of $50. The only saving grace is that the views from this course are incredible… I’d like to see this course with working irrigation because it is a decent set up, but I’ll never risk another $50 for what I experienced today.
Can't Wait to Play It Again
It's not Pebble Beach. There's a few brown spots and the greens were a tad slow. But it's a really fun course with tee boxes for all types o golfers, and a variety of challenging holes. There are also more than a few "birdie holes" to make life more fun. Even though my playing partner was a Noob (so we spent time In search mode) we got the round in in four hours, yet never had to wait. Great mountain views, quiet setting. The staff at the clubhouse was great, and the drinks were tasty. I hope to return soon.
Grewna are rough
Maybe the worst greens I've ever played. Like putting on a rug. Made for a bad experience.
Friendly People, Fun Course
Five sets of tees and a variety of different challenging holes made for an enjoyable morning round. Even though we spent some time in search mode (wayward drives), we finished right at four hours and never had to wait. Their app helps a lot if it's your first time.
Lovely well groomed course.
Would have given 5 stars but we were not told before booking that there was a highschool tournament on the back 9. We were told we'd just have to play the front 9 twice. Eventually they let us on the back 9 as we were early but we had to rush and didn't make it in time to play 18tu hole. Not sure if this was a course staff problem or a golf now issue.
Hard to imagine a more idyllic setting
Gorgeous looking course. Beautiful snow capped mountains in background. Fairways had been mowed but were stll too long, balls barely off were hard to find. Some greens were very dry with dead spots. Cart paths available for only some holes making it hard to find next tee box. Was told their mower was broken and they were sort staffed so spme of the maintenance maybe attributable to that.
We are from Wisconsin and we usually try and play this course once or twice while we are out here visiting relatives. We have always enjoyed playing the course and meeting other golfers from the area. Everyone is very friendly. The scenery is beautiful also.
Great course for the value!
Great course except the golf carts are a bit dated/slow and parts of the course are completely dead grass which is just hitting off dirt.
Good for mid-handicaps and beginners
This is like your garden variety muni transported to a beautiful place. As a low handicapper, I found it easy except a couple of nice holes on the back side. Wide open with accessible greens. Conditions were ok -- spotty here and there. A great place for someone to learn the game.
Good course for mid- or high handicappers
This course is like your average muni transported to a beautiful location. As a low handicapper, I found it to be easy. There are a couple of great holes on the back nine from the tips -- especially a 600 yd par 5 -- but overall there was tons of room for errant shots and the greens were accessible. Conditions were average. It would be a great course for a beginner and a 15-handicapper would find it challenging.
I loved Mission Mountain Golf Course
Beautiful setting, intriguing design, well-maintained, fantastic pace-of-play. We felt like we had the course all to ourselves. A hidden gem!
Back nine way too crowded today
Front nine was great... ez pace. Good conditions. Very nice experience.... then hit tenth hole and it was like a bus had arrived. Golfers all over the place. Groups of 7-8 in 4 carts. People jumping holes. We waited 10-15 minutes to hit on some holes while guys chatted, flagging down the drink cart, double hit balls, went looking for lost balls, carts showing up with people but no clubs... all to meet friends and chat.
Really soured the experience today. No Marshall’s to keep the game moving. Back nine took almost 3 hrs.
Terrible staff/owner
Sean, the owner was absolutely disgusting.
First off I showed up, and was told because my purchase for the round was through golfnow, and that Sean did not get any money from that, that I would need to wait until 5 minutes before my round to even load my bag into a cart.
Mind you a cart that is the only one being rented for the day.
There was literally one other guest at the clubhouse.
Sean then told me after I voiced my complaint of not being able to just load my bag up, “one more word out of you and your golf privilege can be revoked”
Who is the customer here?
Sean was absolutely out of line with his abrupt attitude, and his demeanor towards me as a customer because golfnow was paid and not “him”.
Sean owns the course, there is no pro. It’s just him, I wouldn’t play here again If I was paid 5k to do so.
I advise that golfnow stops even listing this course.
MMGC
Great course that I love to play. Excellent views with a course that is improving every year. The Cantina Grill is a must after a round and I suggest the pulled pork burrito. Relaxing golf in a great atmosphere.
