Nice layout
The course was just ok. Greens were slow and patchy. Fairways are very narrow, although we did like the layout
I’ll be back
First time playing Scotch Meadows. We drove an hour. We played on a wet day, but the greens were in great shape and rolling true. We played the white tees and really enjoyed our round. There are a lot of scoring opportunities, I just didn’t capitalize 😂 we will be back.
Nice potential, but…
Nine staff, but course needs a lot of work. Where is the grass in the fairway? Nothing but sand! Where is the the sand that’s supposed to be in the bunker? In the fairway! Lots of potential, but basically a goat ranch.
Scotch Meadows
Great value despite being so far away. Demanding but certainly not unfair - staff person was extraordinarily helpful with advice on playing. The only downside of the course was how very thin the sand is in the traps. There seemed to be less than 1/2 inch depth in the traps I found. Very hard dirt underneath. These conditions required a chip shot rather than a sand blast.
Awesome course
We drove 1.5 hours to try this course. Out in the country , no city traffic or congestion. Course was great and the staff was very friendly. Will definately be coming back to play.
Very friendly place
Very friendly staff got us all set quickly and on our way.
My group was a 3sum we play quick and course was challenging.
Good value
Staff was pleasant, initially was a single ended up joining 3 ladies that started on hole 5 and needed to play the last 4 holes. Then joined a 3 some on hole 6 as I still had 4 4somes in front. They only played 9 holes. Caught up to a twosome in front and joined them for last 6 holes. So met several new folks. Course layout was nice grass was a bit high greens had several area on most that were really rough and slow but rolled pretty true. If I am in the area I would play again but would not drive almost 2 hours to play again.
Challenging Test. Great Value
Scotch Meadows is one the best values for the price in the entire state of North Carolina. Well Maintained and very hospitable. Very challenging layout off the Tee, must be able to work the ball both ways. Only pushback is a couple of patchy greens on the front, but it’s August so it’s understandable. Tough Track. Great bang for your buck
Conditions ok
Course is located in sandhills area of the state hence there will and are issues with sandy bare spots along the cart paths and some in the fairways. Not a big problem. Deal with it. Overall the course is nice. Greens rolled true but slower than I'm use to. It's over 2 hours away from me, but halfway for my buddy to meet me to play. Bunkers were very shallow. More fine dirt than sand. Chipping worked better than blasting out of traps.
