Enjoyment
The bend grass greens were in perfect shape. Nice layout. Challenging enough, put very playable. Staff was friendly, using golf pass made it a smooth transaction. I will play it again asap.
First time here - looks like storms have gone through here recently
Course looked to be in very good shape with a few exceptions. Storms must have been hitting this area. You could tell how high the water had got to with the debris above the creeks and the bunker had been washed really badly. Tee box - fairways and greens were excellent. No water on the course but to be fair we were told that before the round and they had free water in the pro shop. Pro shop very friendly and made sure we knew which direction to go. Bout 120 mile drive to this course but I would like to make it back sometime. We just decided to take a chance and go play somewhere different. Worth playing this course !
Hidden Gem
My home course has closed for renovations for a couple months, I was searching for somewhere to play. I have found it. This is a very nice course hidden in the foothills on NC. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will be here until my course reopens and return after that. Thank you to the staff.
Course review
Obviously grass is still dormant this time of year but the course was great. Good sand in the bunkers. Tee boxes in good shape. New carts with gps systems in them. Very friendly staff. I love that they have a driving range, chipping green, and large putting green. Layout of the course is fun and the views at the base of the mountain are beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite courses within an hour of me.
Awful Course Management
It took 46 minutes (yes 46 minutes) to play first two holes. As we got to the tee box at our reserved time a fivesome comes up and said their tee time was 20 minutes ago. Courses that let fivesomes out are garbage. Courses that let fivesomes out after their tee time are garbage. Courses that don’t have rangers to correct slow play of fivesomes are garbage. We hit tee shot on first hole and waited until the fivesome got yo the green and all five slowly finish the hole. Same story on hole 2. 36 minutes. Two holes. After this nonsense we went the back nine and played. Came back and played the front. We still finished before the fivesome. This was my 738th round in past 3 1/2 years and probably my worst experience T any course.
Hidden treasure
Nice course. Only issue is that cart # 35 quit On #4, then started and would only go backwards. We let it rest a while and it worked normal for the rest of 9 holes .
Great golf course
CedarRock never disappoints! The star is always friendly and the course is always in great shape
Nice Course But Has Seen Better Days
The layout of the course is great. Condition of the greens and fairways is good but the tee boxes need work. So also do the bunkers. The cart paths are in terrible condition however, bordering on dangerous in some areas, in my opinion. Looks like the course, golf shop and clubhouse need some serious upgrading, which hopefully will happen soon, since it's for sale, according to the staff we met.
It's definitely worth the trip to Lenoir and the price is right.
Great Track for the money
Looking for golf during vacation in Blowing Rock and found this gem. About a 30 minute drive down the mountain. Pro shop staff was friendly and helpful. Provided booklets for the course which were needed. Front side very challenging but a lot of fun to play. Read the helpful hints as we didn’t for the first 5 holes and paid for it. Back side easier but fun. Hotdogs at turn were excellent and beer reasonable. We played in 3.5 hours which was outstanding. Greens putted true and good speed. Fairways are a little rough but for the price can’t beat this place. We will be back.
Wonderful, challenging course
I drive 85 miles from Fort Mill a couple times a year to play this course. From the parking lot you look out on the front nine up against Mt. Hibriten. The back nine, across the street, is in a valley. Both are very picturesque and well laid out. The course is in great shape and greens are faster than I have seen them previously. Very challenging greens due to roll and slope. Challenging but fun course. Play it this year as they are trying to recruit new members to take the course private.
In Good Condition
There were some wet spots on the course due to poor drainage but overall, it was in good shape. I enjoyed my round and we played a full round in 4 hours.
Cedar Rock GC 4/29/22
Play Cedar Rick 4-6 times a year. Player Friday April, 29. Course will be in tip top condition mid June if warm weather permits. Greens we're in super condition and fast. For a crowded Friday, place of play was great. I was a single and paired with 3 other online golfers. We had a great round and new friendships. Staff is always great at CR. Will be playing Monday in a seniors tournament with 100+ members. Looking forward to a great round. Cedar Rock is a great course.
Terrible Experience
I was wanting to play a different course and Cedar Rock appeared to be a very nice course online. When I got my cart I was paired with another gentleman. When we approached 2nd hole my cart quit working. I called pro shop and the guy was like did you try this and that then said you didn’t turn it off did you. Said he would sent another cart. I jumped in with other golfer. Never seen any employees and as we came back around the cart was still there and I had to get my own. The second cart quit on me as well after a few holes. I had to drive in reverse rest of time. The course was in terrible shape. One of the tee boxes appeared as though they just threw pieces of sod down and on another hole it appeared they had done away with a bunker and had done the same. Save your money
