Nice day of golf
Very nice day of golf. Friendly staff unique layout.
Awesome, beautiful course
This course is great!! The best course that i have ever played and I play golf 2-3times a week and I can say this course is my favorite!
Great Find
I played this course for the first time last week with a buddy and we really enjoyed it. The fairways were well cut and with the exception of one hole they were all in tact with minimal winter kill. The course has some nice views and the layout is fairly open off of the tee. The greens are pretty small however so even from the fairway you have to work to keep your approach on the green. The greens were slow but consistently so, and rolled pretty well. The staff was very friendly and the pace of play was perfect so I will definitely be coming back here soon!
fun course to play
fairways in good shape. would rate greens a six on a scale of 10. nice facilities. pace of play a little slow. always like to bring someone along with me who has never played this course before. everyone always seems to be impressed with it.
Great Course
Course, as a whole was in great shape, especially the greens. Weather for the past year has been challenging, but course is better than most in area.
The course is pretty good shape
The course was in pretty good shape . I was going to play as single but added two more. The only problem that the course had was hole 11. The tees are 200 yards up from the normal spot. I was told that the tees were moving back this week. Other wise it was a great day for golf.
Great value for the money
played on a Sunday afternoon and it was still more affordable than most courses in the area. A couple holes were altered due to poor fairway conditions, but the course did the right thing to make that change as opposed to have golfers hit around blind corners into dirt patches. Yardages were an issue on some back 9 holes where tee boxes had been moved and not noted.
7/26/15
Bring plenty of water because the course lacks coolers around the course. To my knowledge, I only saw one the entire round. Front desk employee lacked customer service skills.
Fun course to play`
I love the layout of the course, the speed of the greens are excellent and the staff is very friendly. .
One of the better value courses in the area
Love to play Pudding Ridge. Especially in the afternoon weekdays as it's never over crowded. Can be crowded on the weekend but they do a good job managing it.
Course-wise, they are suffering as most course in the NC are, with the effects of WinterKill. Some fairways have areas which are not going to come in this year but most holes are in good shape. They're doing what they can and it's showing.
Good greens, not overly fast now due to the heat of the summer but they are in good shape. Tee boxes are in great shape.
The course is challenging enough for most golfers but offers birdie opportunities if you hit some good shots. It doesn't overly penalize you for the occasional wayward shot either.
ANOTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!
We play Pudding Ridge regularly and course was in good shape. Most courses in the area have had some rough spots due to a rough winter but Pudding Ridge is in better shape than most. The only exception is on hole # 11. The par 5 has been shortened to a 224 yard par 4. They have the majority of the fairway closed off to allow the grass to recover so while its one less par 5 you get to play its a fun short par 4 you have now. Staff was extremely friendly. While the weather was very hot we still had a great time.
This Pudding is Sour
Two great things are offered when playing pudding ridge. The drive in and the drive out. The drive in only because you are unaware of what's ahead and the drive out because you are... Leaving.
The staff is both unwelcoming and confused. They appear to not know their own promotions. Be aware if you have a Golf Card promotion from the news paper. They will not honor.
Coolers are welcomed on the course. Which is a great feature since you will need multiple beers just to tolerate the pace of play. It's recomended you bring a case of beer and one bottle of lube per player.
If you have $25 and a free afternoon go to Foot Hills brewery and watch the PGA from there.
Course condition- bad, it's a corn field.
Hidden gem in Davie County
Having married someone from Davie County, I am coming to discover the area's hidden gems. Pudding Ridge Golf Course is one of them. I didn't have high expectations driving through the countryside to get to this course, but once I arrived I was impressed. Nice club house, good practice green, a nice chipping green near the first tee to get warmed up.
With water on a number of holes, you have to think your way around this course. Some local knowledge or a rangefinder is helpful on some of the holes. There are downhill holes and uphill holes, doglegs, short and long par 3s. Good variety.
Cost is reasonable, especially with twilight rates, and especially if you walk. It's not an easy walking course -- the distance from the 2nd green to the 3rd tee is looooong -- but my son walks it regularly.
If you want a change of pace from Tanglewood, or something more affordable than Oak Valley or Salem Glen, or an upgrade from Lake Louise, Pudding Ridge will hit the spot.
Course average, everything else poor
This Course was average. The first problem was there was no food. I asked the staff why the grill wasn't open and they explained that the books showed that they were not going to be busy (friday) so they did not open it. It seems to me that Pudding Ridge Golf Corse is more worried about money and less about the golfer. Problem #2 The grounds keeper followed me and my friends around the course turning on the sprinkler system either before we reached the hole or while we were in process of getting there so most of the greens were wet.Problem #3 At one time the grounds keeper stood on the fringe why we were putting waiting on us to finish so he could take core samples to see if the greens needed more water. Overall I will not be returning to this course and neither will my other three friends. It was really disappointing after hearing what a great course it was supposed to be......not!
Doing some work on some fairways but rest shape
Course was in exceptional shape. Some re-sodding work being don on 11 fairway to improve conditions there. Greens were in great shape.
the ridge
Course is good shape. However the signature hole number 11 is playing as a very short par four. All I n all a good round
Pudding Ridge
Went through Golfnow and got it for $12. Very worth the price even if it was $25. some fairways were dying cause of the lack of rain and the very hot weather lately so they shortened a few holes which made some holes easier. Greens were in good shape but very slow.
Pudding Ridge Is Worth It
Pudding Ridge really isn't close to anything, but it is worth your trip. It's not the most difficult course in the world, and presents scoring opportunities for even high handicappers. Fairways are generally wide, while greens are often small and undulating. That is the defense of the course. The greens have a lot of grass on them and are quite spongy. They aren't nearly as fast as they look. There are 3-4 fairways that are recovering from this year's late winter kill, but the staff is working hard to get those areas back in shape. Definitely not a walker's course as there are some long distances between some holes. There is quite a bit of water on the course between creeks, ponds, and lakes.
Looking better
The fairways need some work but there definitely trying to get it in better shape.
Great conditions at a great value.!
If you are looking for a great course to spend some time on, go here. The course has always been a great track. A few of the holes are under construction so there are a few modified holes but other than that well worth the money. Tees are well used from the whites but if you can hit it 250 play the blues and enjoy the challenge. Crew in the proshop and the grounds crew made us feel at home.
