Brandywine Bay much improved
This was the first time I’ve played this course in several years.
In the past I felt the course is very narrow. The staff told me that they had to take out about 300 trees following hurricane Florence. This made the course feel more open.
They also had reversed the nine‘s, which results in starting off on an easy par five instead of a difficult part four.
Also the golf carts appeared to be new. And the carts contained a nice GPS system.
Great course in very good shape. The value on golf now is much more affordable that going directly through the course. Course is challenging with greens that are a little small so it can be challenging to hit. The back side plays more challenging than the front.
Good course management is important to scoring well on this course
No complaints here
I’ve payed a lot more to play courses in far worse conditions. Booked thru golf now, I believe I paid $78 for myself and my daughter. We arrived an hour early to hit balls, but was told we could go to the first tee since they weren’t busy. Which we did. I played the back tees, which was around 6350 yards. Not overly long, but still long enough. The course is fairly tight off the tee. You will find water hazards or OB on most holes. This is not a course you can grip it and rip it. The fairways were a bit furry, but I saw several workers on mowers while we played our round. The greens were also a bit hairy, but we’re surprisingly soft. They prolly ran about an 8. The bunkers looked like they hadn’t been touched in a day or two, but there was some heavy rain the night before we played. The staff was very friendly. The carts also contained GPS which was helpful in some instances. Would be extremely useful without a range finder. We played our round in a little over 3 hours and 15 minutes. All in all it was a good experience, and we will prolly play it again this week.
Better shape
The course is in better shape than it has been for a few years.
Terrible
While the price wasn't terrible, the course layout was horrendous and conditions were abysmal. The driving range was tiny and disgusting. Overall, This course ruined my vacation to say the least
Very nice course.
I was just visiting from Florida, and when on line to see what courses was near by. This course came up and I gave it a try. The course was not in A1 condition, but was a great layout, and was in good condition.
Friendly Staff
I played early morning. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Course is in descent shape considering their winter weather here. Fairways are still coming in, about 80%. 2 to 3 greens have some bare spots, but the pin position allow for that to be a minor issue. Neighbor hood course which means some fairways are tight for your boggy golfer. Apparently they have new management because their rates are reasonable now. Overall a good day of golf was had by all.
Too narrow, too much water!
Played this course for the first and last time today. Some people may like it but the Emerald puts it to shame. Greens were in really bad shape.
They had a tournament still going when I got there.
Had to wait a little to play. Was to get a 10% on
your web site but did not happen. Called your site but there was a 3 hour wait on the phone.
Solid tight course
A fun course to play with lot's of water requiring you to be precise off the tee box. The fairways are tight but if you can hit the right spots there is usually a way to the hole on the par 5's. A few of the greens were in rough shape.
Good deal
I’ve played here quite a few times over the years. Right now the course is in pretty good shape. There are a few greens that are very patchy. The greens are very receptive though and you can usually find a good hot deal here.
