Nice course
Course was in great shape tee to green. Greens were a little slow but rolled true. Need to know layout of course. Course book was very helpful. Would definitely play again. Rachel in the bar/grill was very friendly and helpful.
1st Timer
Booked this while visiting Greensboro. I wanted to visit Mayberry & play a course that was different. Thoroughly enjoyed this little gem nestled in the woods. Great condition, great pace & the layout very unique.
Great Layout
This course is always in excellent condition. Greens were smooth, but slower than usual, due to dry summer they are not cutting them as close as normal.
Slow Play
I got a tee time from Golfnow and when I got to the course realized that it was behind the member member golf tournament. It took us Four hours to play fourteen holes so we left. The condition of the course was great and greens were running around a nine and rolled true. The clubhouse is nice and course had a lot of character. My only recommendation would be to have more yardage markers on each hole.
Saturday afternoon tee time
Course was wet but in decent shape. Very disappointed course allows 5 some group to play on weekend when course is busy. 4.5 hour round isn’t enjoyable at all.
Cross Creek
The biggest thing I see that they need to work on is the cart paths
Cross creek
Cross creek is a great course. Once the grass comes in it will be 5 stars easily. Challenging layout. The food in the clubhouse is amazing. Best hot dogs and onion rings I've ever tasted. Don't get rid of the food.
A Few Issues
It was an extremely gorgeous day for this time of year (30 Nov), with cloudless blue skies and virtually no wind, and a temperature approaching 70 degrees. The course itself was very nice, with dormant, brown Bermuda grass, which is to be expected this time of the year. There isn't proper signage showing golfers where the first tee is. You need to leave the cart area and go through the parking lot and pass in front of the club house to find the first tee. The first 9 holes are on one side of the road and 10-16 are across the road. The 17th and 18th holes are back across the road on the club house side. The course was fair and challenging and the booklet given to us from the pro shop helped a lot. The front 9 is fairly flat, but once you cross the road to play 10-16, the course gets hilly, but not extremely so. The other gripe aside from the lack of signage was there was no water to drink on the course. It wasn't that the water coolers were empty, there just weren't any at all in the little wooden cooler housings! Management needs to realize that a golfer doesn't have to be playing in 90-degree weather in order to have a need to stay hydrated. We brought it to the attention to a staff member after our round who seemed surprised there was no water, but then seemingly tried to excuse the absence by saying, "Well, it is November after all." Didn't make sense, but what can you do? All in all it was a fairly good experience.
What a gem
This was quite a surprise for our foursome. The course is truly a Country Club with nice amenities and a golf course with a lot of character. The pace of play was great and the greens were in great shape The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape and this course is one our foursome will put on the list to play.
Gem
Great layout Greens were slow but they were getting ready to punch Tee to green it was a 10 My 2nd time and won't be the last
Nice Course !
Great course. It's challenging so be careful of the sand and water. The greens looked great. The course is kept up really nice. Great staff and friendly fellow golfers.
First time ....
Greens were a little rough due to aeration and lack of mowing I would assume from weather issues. Cart paths pretty beat up and need some attention. Overall course layout and conditions pretty good.
