Nice place
This golf course is always a pleasure to play. Usually windy which makes it a challenge. Greens would be great if people would fix their ballmarks.
Great course.
Nice blend of target holes and long holes. Excellent greens. Excellent condition. Great staff. A great challenge and very visually appealing. A winner.
Great Track
Great time on a very well laid out course. Friendly staff especially young lady from David City. As a senior I appreciate a course that is not as we say " extreme golf".
This is a 'must play' course
The course was in really good shape for mid-July. The pace of play was great, the staff was excellent and the beverage cart was available on nearly every hole.
Pars and an occasional birdie are there for the taking but the greens are fast and the fairways are narrow.....bring a couple extra sleeves of balls as there are plenty of spots that will eat up errant shots.
All in all this is a great course to play but will be quite challenging for beginners. The regular rates are a little high but I booked through Golf Now and paid a price well worth the experience.
Beautiful course, excellent condition
Beautiful course in excellent condition. Some fairways fairly easy to hit, others require you make the shot. Greens were quick, but rolled true. Carts have GPS and offer good advice regarding hazards, traps, dog legs, elevation changes, etc.
Fun and challenging course
Excellent layout plenty of challenges for all types of golfers. Some resident members played in jeans and flip flops and we're not "ready" golfers but can't complain about the golf now hot deal. Would recommend to anyone one of the bests in southeast Nebraska.
great value, challenging course
$30 hot rate tee time in early spring. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Condition was tough to judge as it was early in the year. Sand was very soft and good shape. Can't go wrong for the price. Have some more of these hot deals available and i will return many times this year. Not worth the normal $65 price, can easily play at omaha courses for better value.
Great course, Friendly staff, Great golf experience
So, I booked a tee time the night before I wanted to play, (on golfnow.com) and it was a screaming deal, so already off to a good start. I arrived early (7 am) and the pro shop hadn't opened yet, as it was still kind of dark outside. While I'm on the practice green, multiple grounds crew men went out of their way to offer to get me started since the pro hadn't yet arrived. So, finally get enough sunlight to track the ball, I'm off and playing, course was in great condition, chatted with some more of the crew when we crossed paths on the course, and a 75 is the cherry on top. I only play here once or twice a season, as it is a little pricey, but it is what it is.
really nice layout and excellent condition
What a nice course this is !!!
Had little tough time finding it since it was the first time for me but once I got there, the gentleman at the pro shop was super friendly and even though I was 10 min late for my tee time I was able to tee off right away.
Every hole is unique and playing from black tee was a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be.
Really enjoy playing there and I would definitely go back there again.
Course living off of former glory
Overpriced for regular play, but a value with the GolfNow discount...
Wonderful Course
Excellent course in terrific condition, especially considering the lack of rain the past month or two. Not too easy, not too tough. Played from the tips and struggled a bit keeping driver in play vs. hitting less club off the tees to stay in play but leaving a longer second shot in. Great challenge but not overwhelmingly hard. Price-wise, it's a bit expensive to play the course but I grabbed a last minute (night before) Golf Now deal at $20 for 18/cart. To put the savings of that in perspective, when I asked how much it would be to play another 9 w/ cart, the answer was $30! Can't play there all the time due to cost, but I am seeing Woodland Hills pretty often on Golf Now. EXCELLENT track!
Bunkers need attention!
Great course! They market themselves as NE's only 5-star by Golf Digest (15 years ago-ish) Great (pre-paid) deals on golfnow.com, but a buddy paid $70 recently. With large unkept bunkers, it's more of a 3 star course, at best. I hit out of 3 footprints during my round. If they maintained the bunkers, it would be so much better!
Amazing
Course is beautiful and the staff there was awesome. Typically a fairly expensive course, but through the end of August, if you grab a hot deal and add the BOGO code of "FBBOGO13", a second player plays free! We ended up paying $25 + fees total for the two of us, and a regular tee time probably would've been $75-100 for the two of us.
Not impressed
Thank goodness for the golf now rate of $20 because this course doesn't deserve the $50-$62 normal rate. They were doing major repairs on each hole and you always felt the guy cutting the grass was following you. The workers made little attempts to get out of the way and there were several holes when you had to wait on them to move or they didn't move at all. Very distracting.
Decent, Quiet Course
Nice course away from the hussle & bustle of the city!
Challenging greens and sand traps make the course interesting. Back 9 in much better condition than the front 9.
Overall, fun course to play. Trees were in great condition.. no real issue if you go in the trees, it's an easy punch shot out of them!
THIS COURSE IS FUN AND CHALLENGING.
JUST ABOUT EVERY HOLE IS DIFFERENT AND THAT MAKES IT FUN AND CHALLENGING FOR EVERY GOLFER.
great shape, has some challenges, friendly staff
I played this in Dec 2012, picked up a Golf Now hotrate for the course so made it an excellent bargain. Course was in good shape, offers some challenges and is fun to play. Will definitely be back.
This course recovered very nicely from the summer drought.
Very fun and challenging course. An excellent value at $35 for 18 holes and a cart during the fall.
Bad Staff
Upon arrival to the course I was not greeted in a friendly manner. Further more the guy who checked me in was unaware that GolfNow was even promoting Woodland Hills, NE on their website. Due to this I ended up paying the standard course rate which was $30 more than what GolfNow said I could play for. Needless to say I was not impressed and will never return to this course.
