Golf Advisor: Top 25 Courses for Pace of Play in the U.S. (2021 #19)
Reviews
After the rain
Headed out after a rain storm which turned into great conditions. The course was in good condition especially the greens. Great value for
a little driving.
Value in Eastern North Carolina
Found a great rate online. Hadn't played the course in years. Forgot what a hidden gem it was. Shot maker's course. What it lacks in total distance it makes up for with small undulating greens.
We had fun. Course was good. Not crowded so play was smooth with not delays. Staff was very nice and offered assistance if we needed any.
Only downfall was it could have been warmer. LOL
Greens are Gone
Unfortunately weather conditions have left the greens in horrible condition. In my 30+ years I have never seen greens this bad. I do not recommend playing this course until the greens greatly improve. Otherwise this is a fun course and a great value.
Surperb Greens
Fairway needs cutting. But greens are excellent.True roll..If you can putt. One or two putts easy..
Terrible
I will never play here again.. waste of money.. course is horrible
Will absolutely be back
Course was kept up fairly well and had a nice layout. Only reason not 5 stars were little things like ball cleaning stations empty/nasty, deep grass clippings on a couple of fairways. Those could be improved, but overall we had a great time and really enjoyed Maccripine!
Good value, good layout
Good layout in eastern N.C. Bermuda greens rolled smooth though grass was sparse around some edges. Fairways and tees needed mowing and were weedy, but lies were decent. For $12 for 18 through GolfNow (plus the added GolfNow fee of about $6) I was satisfied. Friendly, helpful staff.
Will never play this golf course again
Fairways are very hard and rough. Full of weeds. Greens are weeds cut very low with lots of sand spread on them and were very hard. Greens were very, very fast. The regulars didn’t make us feel welcomed.
Golf on a windy day.
A beautiful layout at Micropine. Only complaint I have is the fairways. They are not in good shape. The greens were good not great but it is still early in the season so I am sure will be better.
Nice coures
Really nice course
Drinks are over priced
I would play here again
Maccripine
Course was average. Greens were really fast. Fairways were ok. The guy at the counter when we checked in was not very friendly. It was not busy at all no one waiting or behind us. He said we had to play with a 2 some that had the same teetime. It was fine but we ended up holding up several other groups that were obviously regulars. I asked him before we started if we could play separate and he was very short with me and snippy acting.
Very Nice Course in Country Setting
Love playing this course. It's quite, has no houses on the course and pace of play is great.
Nice course but needs fairways cut
Fun course with good elevation changes. There were no fairways to speak of, as the grass was as high in the center of the fairway as it was on the edges. Needed to be cut.
Good course for money
Greens and fairways were rough. But for $10 it was worth the money. Staff was friendly. Not much in pro shop and balls were super expensive.
Not a good course for experienced golfers
On the very first hole I hit a good approach shot and it landed on the middle of the green and bounced up about 3ft. in the air (I've never seen that happen before) and proceeded to roll off of the back of the green. I knew I was in for a long day. Greens are small but not in great shape. Too many bunkers. Course doesn't reward good shots. Tee boxes are very small and weird. I was playing awful partially because I didn't trust the course to act like it should. A beginner might enjoy this course and it's short par 5's but most experienced golfers would not.
