moderate players
this course is ideal for mid level players and usually in pretty good shape. the greens were fast. All and all a great value. an even better value during the weekday.

Winter Golf
Wil Mar is one of my favorite courses in the area. I love the layout of the course. It’s not overly long and difficult but fun for all levels of golfers. The greens are in fantastic shape and pretty fast, even with all the rain and the cold weather. The course was cart path only and very very wet in areas but we’ve had a ton of rain lately.
For the money, this is my favorite course in the Raleigh area.

Sad Turn of Events
This place has always been a not so hidden gem of a golf course on a beautiful property.
I wanted to get out one last time before the place turns into just another housing development. Sadly, this course is in the as good shape as I I have ever seen it in the 30 years since I first teed it up here. I will get out a few more times before it closes, and then mourn the loss of one of the last of the old school courses in the area.
The food and drink is good as well.
I would highly recommend that you get out there and play this fall, before this place closes forever.

Nice surprise
I got a hot deal to this course on the spur of the moment because it was so cheap and had low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised! Course was well-maintained, greens were nice and staff was super friendly. Pace of play was good and was able to finish the round in just over three hours. Short course with a relatively simple layout so high-level golfers probably won't like it but for the average golfer like me it was fine. I was sad to find out the course will probably close later this year since the property has been sold but I plan to play it a few more times before it does!
