Will play there again.

Really fun and challenging course layout. Greens were super fast. Course was in great shape for the fall. Only bad thing is the got rocked by the flooding and Hole 16 is gone. So playing 17 holes right now.

Great course

Had a great time. No one in front and no one pushing from behind. The course is in great condition given a few greens that had a couple issues. Hole 16 should be repaired and opened up. Other that that, really enjoyed the day.

Nice golf course! Needs work though to make better…

Golf course has a beautiful mountainous landscape, alot of dogleg holes, downhill and some uphill shots. Fairways were good, most greens were ok except for a few that needed work, bunkers were unplayable needed work, missing par 3 hole 16 must have been washed out by bad storm Helene I amagine. Price for a round is too high for a golf course that is missing a hole and needing work to bunkers and some greens. Would love to play again! Course has a lot of potential of being a great course again as I’ve heard in past times.

Great Course

I’ve played here a few times before and it’s always been a great place to play. No complaints at all. The staff has always been very friendly.

Highly disappointed

Highly disappointed im this course. Hole 16 is closed. Cart paths are in serious need of repairs. I know hurricane Helene had some to do with this, but some things could be repaired. Bunkers have been neglected and are in need of some TLC. Priced to high for conditions. Food was too expensive. $9 for a hot dog and a tea. Other than that the course was in pretty good shape other than some of the greens looked burnt.

Hidden gem

Buyer beware: Hole 16 washed out during Hurricane Helene and has not been repaired.

Course is really well designed. Challenging but not tough. Greens make you work for it.

Course condition

I have played Cleghorn for decades. Since hurricane Helene the course conditions are really bad.

Several greens are in really bad condition, all bunkers on the course are unplayable. No sand in any of the bunkers. Hard packed red dirt.

Very unfortunate because it is a great course layout.

Very frustrating since they still charge $70 on the weekends. No warning about the course conditions.

Needs attention

Played Cleghorn several times over the last few years and must say this time the course did not meet expectations. Since the hurricane damage/closure in mid-2024 the course has not opened hole 16 (par 3). And no mention of this on their website. This is a 17-hole course. Several areas still show signs of big trees down. The rest of the course is in decent shape and the greens are great. This is a challenging course that requires correct ball placement off the tee to play the hole well.

1st time

1st time playing here and absolutely loved the course and the gorgeous views! Even though there is no hole 16 or sand in any bunkers as a result from hurricane Helena this place was really fun to play! Course layout is incredible. Fairways were nice and greens had some rough patches but pins were in best spots possible. Im sure this place will be back in top shape in no time.

Course conditions

Fairways were great. Greens has some dead spots. Bunkers were atrocious. Barely any sand and weeds growing in them. Course is down to 17 holes and course conditions don't reflect in the price.

Thanks to some much needed rain over the past few weeks, Cleghorn has gone from brown and extra-firm to lush and receptive. Still no sign of activity on #16 which was destroyed by the Hurricane last fall so I played two balls on #12 as a proxy for 16.

This entire round was played in conditions ranging from light mist to moderate rain which made the greens very receptive and the traffic light. All in all this was 3-hours very well spent.

Beautiful views.

Course overall is really nice. My only complaint is not knowing the 16th was closed ahead of time but it is understandable from the hurricane damage. Would just be nice to know ahead of time or at least offer to replay the first par 3 hole

Will be back

Incredible 1st experience here. Would be 5 stars from me if a couple of things were better. The bunkers have more weeds in them than sand and some of the greens have some real rough spots in them. (At least they put pins in best parts of the greens). #16 is closed because of the hurricane so totally understandable. The layout and views are amazing! Would like to do a stay and play here if possible.

Sand traps were terrible. Cart path was in shambles. Greens had weeds.

The layout of the course is very good.

Greens and fairways were in great shape. One hole has not been repaired since the hurricane last year and is unplayable. Sand traps are not being maintained. When I asked the staff, I was told their maintenance barn was totaly flooded, and all of the equipment has not been replaced yet, i.e, the reason for not maintaining the sand traps.

It’s not what it used to be

This course has significantly gone downhill. I know they had the hurricane, but that was a year ago. The bushes even driving in the parking lot have weeds grown up as tall as the bushes. This is the same maintenance as around the entire course. I can say that the staffs attitudes have improved over previous ownership. This course has a long way to go to regain its reputation.
