Corbin Hills Golf Club
Corbin Hills Golf Club is a great value for anyone in the Salisbury, NC area. It isn't an overly long course; just under 6500 yards from the tips. There is a decent amount of elevation change without it being too hilly. It is an easily walked course. Some holes play all uphill, while others play down, and still more descend from the tee and then play back uphill to the green. Many of the fairways tend to funnel towards a low spot in the middle of them. Most holes are straight in front of you, with the exception of #7, a Z-shaped par 5, and 10 & 17, L-shaped par 4's. I do not like #7 at all. I think it is one of the most poorly designed holes I've ever played. It requires a layup to a blind landing area, then a fairway metal that has to be threaded around and through overhanging trees for the second shot. The third shot is to a plateaued green that sits 20 feet above the level of the fairway. Other than that, the other holes are very playable. Much like it's neighbor a couple of miles to the south, McCanless Golf Club, Corbin Hills does not have any bunkers. Creeks come into play on 7, 8, and 10. A small pond fronts the 9th green. Teeboxes and fairways are fescue, while greens are bermuda. I found the tees in great shape, with the exception of the 15th, while the fairways were also in good shape. Greens were soft and receptive after all of the recent rains. I played in the late afternoon on Memorial Day Saturday, and the course was empty. Pro shop and greens staff were very helpful and friendly. I paid $15 to walk as many holes as I could play as a twilight rate. Prices are very affordable during other days of the week as well.
good track
This is a great golf course for the value. You CANNOT beat it in Charlotte.
Great place to play!
Excellent course, friendly/fun staff, always in great condition.
Corbin Hills Golf Course
Holes are not marked we'll with signs & yardages. Green surfaces were very good & hard to putt. Overall a fun course to play!
Great Course
Been a long time since I played this one but was surprised at the condition of the course. Unlike Warrior in China Grove, Corbin's greens were in top condition as well as the tee boxes. I played a neighboring course just a week ago and their greens were so so but their tee boxes looked like the rough. So yes I would recommend this course as long as they keep the course in great condition. Leaves were a problem but that's Fall for ya. The only complaint I have with the course is the clubhouse. Its time for a change. I would rather use an outhouse than use these bathrooms. They are, to say the least, nasty. But that's a small price for a great course. Staff were very friendly. Again, don't ruin it. Keep up the good work.
Good conditions
I've played this course for several years now, the conditions have only gotten better! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Overall this is a great course for beginners to intermediate.
Great course
Great course for the money. Also has a nice practice facility. Will deffenetly be playing again
Well maintained course
Course is challenging. Fairways are narrow . Greens are slow. Enjoyed playing the course
Great bang for your buck
Really nice course, settled in a quiet neighbourhood. Great course for the price that you pay!
Corbin Hills
Course was in good condition. Pace of play was a little slow due to a Womens League on Tuesday, Will play again soon but will not play on Tuesday Mornings...LOL
I was impressed...
This was my first time playing this course. GolfNow.com had a deal to ride 18 for $11.00! I was impressed with the condition of the fairways and greens and the holes were interesting and varied from hole to hole.
Fun course
A great golf course to play and bring your friends.
Play for the greens but not much more
The course is a nice and playable course for anyone to play. The greens roll very nice and are readable . They are the highlight of the course . The only thing is that you got to play with having no grass to play out of . This means your playing off the dirt most of the time. That is even when you are in the fairway . The only thing I do not like about this course is the fairways.
Worth the Drive
Stayed in Charlotte, and enjoyed the course. Although staff was friendly, they didn't honor our tee time and it was a first come, get in line and off you go. Probably because it was the weekend.
Waited on just about every shot because of too many on the course I believe.
Great Course!
First time playing here and will definitely come back. there were a few long holes but overall it was fairly short and the greens were pretty nice!
Aeration
The course is very good. I love playing here, but I wish I had known they were doing the golf course aeration.
OK for this time of year :]
The course was ok for this time of year I guess. Some fairways had soggy spots as we have had lots of rain this season. Fairways and rough were not that much different. Greens had been worked for the coming season but were pretty fast and held pretty good. I do play this course pretty regular so it is normally in good shape for the better part of the season. Pace of play was a problem as we were behind a [5 some] who must have been playing for the deeds to their houses a s to how long it took them to finish out on the greens. They should not have 5 in a group especially on the weekends. So it was pretty backed up all day. SLOW PLAY CANT BE TOLLERATED. Good course to play for the money though.
Early spring
The course was in good shape for late winter. The weather was nice and staff friendly. The play was relaxing and fun. Great price!
Good course, great value
Greens are smaller and very undulating with several severely sloped. Great putting is rewarded.
