Excellent for the money
You cannot beat any course whatsoever for 18 holes at $9 for a hot deal. The course is your average course with nothing special. It is well maintained and has all you can ask for. I would highly suggest, if you can get the hot deal I got to go for it. It is a fun course.
WORKING MANS COURSE
First of all, this is a perfect.piece of property for a golf course. It is very short,6000 from tips, with yardgrass fairways and TINY, HARD bent grass greens. The greens are decent shape but every approach needs to come from high altitude. This is possible when all you need for par 4s is 200 yard club and a bag full of wedges. The par threes are LONG which makes no sense. I personally LOVE hole 18 which is visually appealing and a well struck drive leaves a wedge into a par five. For what it is, it is fun to play and a perfect place for a CASUAL round. Definitely affordable. High handicapper and kid friendly which I think is great. Don't expect a championship course or conditions or you will be disappointed.
great value for the money
this is a well taken care of budget friendly course. the greens are in good shape and the fairways are smooth. for the price its hard to beat.
Fun round of golf-straight forward, no frills, great property
We took advantage of an early round breezed through an enjoyable round in about 3 hours, not rushing just not waiting. Great value, Greens are very small but in good shape. Very nice property, pretty, well maintained. Would definitely play there again.
Good bang for my buck course.
It’s not Southern Pines but it’s not bad either. The back nine is a lot of fun and the course does offer a good challenge for the average golfer. We enjoyed the elevation changes on several of the holes. Really kept us on our toes. The only complaints, if you can really call them that, is that some of the fairways need more of a buffer between the adjacent fairways and the fairway grass could be a lot better. Aside from these two small items, we had a good time playing there. The tee boxes were good and the greens were fast enough to suit my putting. Oh, and the clubhouse is really cool. Makes me think of an old fashioned county club. Bushwood anyone? All in all, a fun course that we will be revisiting in the near future.
Good course.
Was a hot day. Two or three greens had problem with Japanese Hornets (cicada killers)?
There were fans blowing on a few of the greens, they felt wonderful.
Overall it was a great golf day.
Terrible condition
Fairways are like concrete and tee boxes are in bad shape. Greens are so small and very slow play. Don’t waste your time!
McCannles review
The staff and facilities were great. The course was obviously designed for walking. We experienced some delays as we had to wait a couple of times to let the foursome in front of us tee-off.
Good
The course is in really good condition for this time of year! Greens are the best I have seen them in a while!
Won’t be back
My usual playing partner was out of town and I made a last minute decision just to go out and work on my game a bit so I booked a single on Tee Off. When I got there he told me about another single that I would be going off with. That’s not the problem. He (I wish I would have got his name) said when he gets here you two can load up and tee off on one.....IN THE SAME CART. I was shocked that in the day of social distancing they want you to spend 4 hours in a cart with a total stranger. I expressed my thoughts and basically told him I wasn’t going to do that so he let me get my own cart for an extra $6.
Out on the course I thought they should have if anything taken off $6 for the condition of the course. Very little grass in the fairways and you would have better luck sticking a ball on a driveway than their greens. I hit several greens and left one ball mark, just too hard. With no grass on the fairways and rock hard greens I started hitting 10-15 yards short and running the ball up on the green....GOOFY GOLF, reminded me of putt putt.
They apparently over booked and don’t have anyone on the course to maintain pace of play. There was up to three groups on the same tee and it took forever.
Looking back I should have just apologized to my playing partner and left long before finishing.
DON’T WASTE YOUR DAY OR MONEY, it’s awful
1st time
Loved the course it was in really good shape greens were super soft. A bit crowded the day we went which slows down play a bit but overall really liked it looking forward to going back
Just not for me
Greens were small and slow but really good condition. Fairways were non existent. Course was way too small with people t-ing off towards other t boxes. Several t boxes were death traps. Balls flying everywhere. Course layout was confusing there was 2 hole where we had no idea where the green was. To ask 30$ for this Course is just unreasonable. Absolutely no chance of chipping due to always hitting off of bear ground. Lob wedge just stayed in the bag. Most par 4s were drivable in 1. To far to travel for cow pasture golf for me.
