enjoyed a new course for us
was doing business in Raleigh, played at cardinal. not fancy but very enjoyable. 20 handcapper, was challenging for us . gad a very good time. friendly staff. definitely would play again
Probably wouldn't return
This is our 1st visit here and although it was only $12 to play, it was almost an hours drive for us which will probably keep us from returning. I don't necessarily mind the drive except this place was pretty rough. The fairways were horrible and the course was very tight as I was almost hit three times with golf balls gone astray. There are several holes that end almost in line with the tee box for the next hole. Also not very happy with the pace of play as the course allowed a group of 5 in front of us that were definitely in no hurry.
Good course value for money.
This course has long par 3's and 4's. Great for practicing your long drives and irons. Relatively flat and forgiving with errant shots. Good value for money.
Evolving int a real gem!
The greens are top-notch. The layout is challenging, but fair. The fairways were over-seeded with rye, which is a nice touch for winter. I witnessed a greenskeeper sifting small rocks out of a sandtrap after he raked it. I wish my home course took such care!
Cardinal
This course is a great value. The staff is very friendly. The course itself is in average shape, the fairways need some attention, but the greens are in very good shape. The layout is interesting. Overall a fun course. I would play the course again and recommend it.
Not a bad course
I like playing this course. The front 9 fairways are a bit narrow then the back 9 open up a bit. There are a lot of small creeks and a few ponds that will eat your golf balls if you aren't careful. Sometimes it's safer to hit a long iron off the tee. You will hear balls hitting the trees along the tough all day on the front 9. Kind of funny hearing so many. But it's fun. The greens are usually in pretty good shape. They are constantly cutting trees down to open up the course. So you will come across wood poles during play. No big deal though. I play this course 1st least once a month. Its the best deal around. Hard to beat $10.00 for 18 holes.with a cart. And....... They will supply you with a cooler for your own beer that you can bring. I love that!
Not Much To Say
Greens roll decently, best way to describe it... Goat Track
Worst course ever played
Absolutely the worst course I have ever played. No identifiable fairway. I use a yellow ball so it is easy to spot and I had a tough time finding it because of all the yellow flowers covering the "fairway ". I could go on but it was so bad we left after nine holes.
Course good for beginners
Fairways in good shape and greens were faster than I expected. Overall really good course but not that challenging.
passing through
Nice course, fairways was rough looking and some were very wet. Greens were good overall enjoyed playing the course. 18 hole was nice hole to play.
Awesome greens
Excellent value. Best greens I've seen in North Carolina.
Nice and green
Course was well maintained except for the spots with water on the fairways, But we did just have heavy rain most of the week. It's a nice course with narrow and wide fairways. The greens were excellent, cart paths were smooth and I only paid $15.00. So I will make the trip from Raleigh again!
Rate of play problem
Great round of golf but I gotta say ; when I booked this round and the listing said 9 hole rate....I thought that I would be playing 18 and paying the 9 hole rate....not so....this was not a deal...after an embarrassing argument with the pro shop guy and a call to the booker , I now feel the need to apologize for my misunderstanding....that
ain't right.....I could have played nine for that price without the booking fee.....
Greens are good, no tee boxes and flooded/very wet
I am an above average golfer who enjoys playing golf no matter where I play. I did not have a good experience at Cardinal CC since the staff did not warn me that most of the holes had temporary tee boxes, the fairways were ok except for the one's that were under water, the greens were in excellent condition but just hard to read. If it were me running that course, I would have the people play around the holes under water to let them dry out. On at least 2 holes the cart path was covered under water and it did not rain in the area for a least 2 days. I would not play here again unless they fix these problems.
Very wet
All of the fairway where very very wet the only good thing was the greens we are to play in tournament on 15th of April hope it's dried out by then
Don't play behind their members!
Avoid playing behind their members fiveome who refuse to let two players play through. No ranger to observe the pace of play. Plan on 5 hours for a round of golf.
good challenge to see where your game is at.
If you can par the 3's your in real good shape, a couple brutal par 4's..this course is tough , bring your a game...
Great place to practice, great price
Not bad I have played there before you can't beat the price.
A little hard to find. narrow fairways and the greens are faster then they look, the breaks will trick you
Nice Course
Course was in nice condition. Greens were very nice and rolled true. Play was slow on the front nine before we were allowed to play through. That would not have been as bad but it was slow due to a five some in front of us
Cardinal County Club
I really enjoy playing this course. It is very inexpensive to play this course. Pace of play is very good.
