Top Notch
First off I played CCJC two days after a week of rain and te fairway was emasculate! I expecting the see holes closed and cart path only rules so to my surprise it was just amazing. Second I left my sunglasses on the cart when we left, I call 24hrs later when I remembered them and expected to hear "no one has turned in a pair of Oakleys" but instead they had them, wrote my name on them and kept them safe till I could get back out there a few days later! I planned on being back to play here anyway, but this may become my new "go to" place to play.
The course was in good shape
Course was dry. The greens were fast. The grill was reasonably priced.
Bermuda greens! Enough said!
I'd have to say these are the best greens I've played on in the last 8 months! I've played a lot of courses and the bermuda greens were a welcome treat. The greens were in great shape and in summer condition; in the spring! The course was in great condition. There was nice sand in the traps, cart paths were well maintained and the tee boxes were good. The fairways were on the transition from winter to summer with some green. The holes were challenging. I believe this is a Ellis Maples design. The pro shop and club house facilities seemed a little run down, but it was a great golf experience.
I'll be back.
This was my 1st time playing the course. Now that I have a feel for it, I know I can score a little better. The traps were great play and well placed. Don't go long when attacking the greens.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
I enjoy playing this course
I love this course, however sometimes pace of play can be slow.
I would recommend a starter and a ranger.
Slow
Course was in great condition and it was a beautiful day. I was with threesome and we played the front nine in 1 1/2 hrs. We caught a foursome at the turn and we finally skipped them on the 15th hole. It took us 2 1/2 hrs to play the back nine. Nobodies fault but the group that was in front of us.
Excellent greens....
The course overall is a nice, easy round of golf...fun with doglegs going both ways. The greens overall were in really good shape. Only bad part (as of now, due to weather and grass type), the fairways were a little barren. They should grow in over the next couple of weeks.
Great value
Enjoyed the course layout. Even though the course is short of its lush season it was in pretty good shape. Greens were receptive. Fairways had little grass but it seemed like it would grow in nicely during the late spring. Will definitely come back in primetime season.
Great value
This course is a value to play. Some very interesting and challenging to play. Will play again. Will worth the pricr
Not bad - nothing special
The day I played it was quite wet. Greens were rolling well and the bunkers were in good shape. Fairways still dormant - would be nice to see once they are green. Probably not worth the drive from Raleigh except I found a hot deal on GolfNow.com. I
A Course with character
This course was in great shape considering all the rain from the previous few days. You need to be able to shape your drive both fades and draws. Nice elevation changes, that does not have homes crowding the fairways. It was great to play a course that allowed you to get away without the hour drive to get there. Can't wait to play it when its all green.
great layout.
Course is a challenge. Love it. Want to play it again soon..
course in great condition. just a fun, challenging to play
fun day, good course. challenging but keeps you wanting to come back
Great course
Great place. Fairways are narrow and many doglegs but fun course. Wish it was closer to play it more often.
Nice Course ...
This is a very nice golf course. I booked on Golf Now and got a great deal. Greens were in good shape and rolled pretty true. Fairways were soft and the ball sits up (the few times I was in the fairway .. lol). All and all a very nice course and if i'm back in the area, I will definitely play there again.
Very good course for the money spent.
The clubhouse was pretty simple and outdated; however, the golf course was in great shape and we enjoyed the course very much. Will play here again, great value for the money.
Nice hilly old style course without houses.
My first time at CC of JC...I was pleasantly surprised. I love these old courses that were built for golf and not for selling real estate. Tees and fairways had good thick bermuda grass and it was well mowed...as was the rough. The greens are bermuda and were kept a bit faster than most bermuda greens I've played recently....which is a plus for me. Course is hilly with quite a number of doglegs going both right and left. The par 5's were a bit short by today's standards, but were very tight with large overgrown trees narrowing the fairways. The par 3's made up for the short par 5's though.
I went as a single and was paired up with another single, no problem. I enjoyed the course very much and will go back soon.
Very Nice Surprise
Booked due to low cost as my son had not played in a while but was very pleased with the course. Nice variety on hole with presentation and elevation changes. I look forward to playing again in the future.
A hidden gem
The course is a moderate challenge, particularly the par 3s from the White tees. Many doglegs and nice greens. Recommend it.
Course is always in great shape, and deceptively tough.
My one problem with this course, is that they allow fivesomes, and there always seem to be a one or two groups of five ahead of us. Usually, the greens are fast, but they were very slow this time.
