Great Course & Very Challenging!
I can't wait to play this course again! Had an awesome time!
Course
Great value for 18 holes of golf. There was nobody else playing so pace of play allowed a relaxing round.
Bad experience - 1st time playing
Booked an 8:30am tee time for 2 players for what I thought was a decent rate for this level of course. Arrived at the course to find the parking lot full and a tournament was about to start. Staff in pro shop said the tournament was starting at 9am… He suggested it wouldn’t affect our round or slow us up and to pick any cart out back ready and pointed to hole 1. By hole 2 already waiting for 3 foursomes of seniors who had also started Approx. 8am-8:15am. Fairways, greens and sand traps were in good conditions a pleasant surprise. After finishing front nine, hole 10 had a foursome waiting on the tee box, the fairway and on the green. We decided to only play 9 with a round of 18 holes projected to take 5hrs. Would’ve liked to known ahead of booking about a tournament being held.
Course was in good condition
Course was in good condition, greens were good, 1 bunker was flooded and I lost a ball in it. Overall good tuff test of golf.
Simple Course
Overall this was a decently beautiful course. The layout was nice the people golfing were friendly. For someone like me it was fairly easy, although I wish there was some sort of layout and pin position available. This course had a couple holes where you didn't know if your green was on the left or right and without a group in front because the pace of play was fast ( me and a friend shot 18 in 3:15 ) kinda had to go with the gut.
Not bad but not great
Second time playing this course, although it has been quite a while since the first time I've played it. Clubhouse isn't bad and has a nice golf shop/grill. Range turf is in great shape. Course itself has some work to do. In some places, the fairways are lush and pretty easy to catch a good lie. Other spots are downright awful. At this time in the golf season, with ample time since soil temps have reached a good growing point, that's not a good sign. Greens were recently punched and were slow due to the topdressing. Give those a couple weeks to recover and they should be in pretty good shape. Some tees on the back nine hadn't been mowed at all. Course layout is relatively easy although some doglegs make for important club selection off the tee. Pace of play was excellent with hardly anyone out there on a Wednesday afternoon, as to be expected. Breezed through 14 holes in about 2.5 hours, but ran into a 3some that was all over the place that added almost an hour for the last 4 holes. Overall, a decent track that could use some work on some fairways but does allow for some error off the tee. Pay any more than $35 and you've paid too much.
Rough shape
Fairways and most greens were ok, but the tee boxes were awful.
Had a group jump in front of us on #10???
So many doglegs made this course more difficult.
Greens are shot
Greens are just covered with sand. Would be a great course to score well on with a decent layout(a lot of bunkers). Unfortunately it seems like they haven’t swept or attempted to get sand of greens in years. Def not a course to practice any kind of putting on. For a 40$ rate which is on the low end it is a course I’d play on a weekday solo but wouldn’t take company to.
Hello. Im sorry you didn't find the greens up to par at CCJC when you visited. Unfortunately, when you played the course, we had top-dressed the greens. I would encourage others reading to read other recent reviews that give a different indication of course play and the greens. Also, we would like to invite you back out to play again when the greens are not top-dressed. Contact us at the club in regards to this. -Thanks, Chris (GM)

Great time. Hidden gem.
Lovely course, challenging, set among a lake and NC pines. Really should try. Great value as well. Nice staff

Fun course and great deal for the money. It was surprisingly challenging. Some Long Par 3's.
Thank you for your feedback and we do hope you come back to play again. I would like to take a moment to address your concerns about our course conditions. We are just now getting in to Bermuda grass growing weather. For optimal growth, the night time temperatures need to reach 65 degrees or above consistently. The week you played, the nightly temperatures averaged in the low 50s. As you said, we did aerate the greens that Monday and Tuesday which had our entire maintenance staff working on cleaning up the plugs, topdressing greens, dragging in the sand, and fertilizer application. I am confident you’ll see improvements in the areas that you mentioned within a couple weeks. --
