Its Been Awhile
Its been about 20 years since I've played Olde Homeplace, in fact that wasn't even the name of the course back then. Since that time, they have done a nice job at making the course more challenging. The course has been lengthened significantly. Its still a fun course to play, gives you plenty of room off the tees and good greens to putt. My biggest complaint was the pace of play. It was super slow. When it take 5+ hours to play, that's has to be on the club house for over booking. And looking at other reviews, there's a tend there. I would have rated the course higher except for the pace. I'm certain I will go back but I have to realize its going to be like this and patience is a must. Take lots of beer and have a good 4 some and enjoy the day and golf. It is a good place to play.
Good course
Nothing stuck out as amazing. The course was in good shape for the weather that we've had the last few weeks and staff was very friendly. We got a good rate of 16 a person. I would play here again.
over booked
I set up a tee time through golf now for 1223. When I got to the course I was told that golf now had over booked and our tee time was 1253. Also since we had booked with golf now that we had to play with another twosome that had also booked with golf now. It took 5 1/2 hrs to play, not because of our play, it was just so crowded.
Old Homeplace review
Excellent course. Challenging but fair. The fairways are wide enough for a high handicapper like me to stay out of trouble, and the greens are not too fast so putting is fair. The back nine seems a little tougher than the front.
Good Course
Good course for winter conditions. Would pay again.
Good Course
Well maintained course. Greens are always in good shape. Can score if hitting the ball well. A few strange holes but a nice course and a good deal.
greens in great shape!
Very slow play on front 9 no ranger to keep pace of play up almost did not finish before dark made play somewhat stressfull
Mixed friendliness
My wife and I played there Sunday with friends. Some of the staff were a bit cold. Others were very friendly. The starter was great and got us out 30 minutes early. It was early winter and the grass was brown but the fairways were in great shape and the greens were also. If you play good course management (don't go for a low probability 220 yard shot) you can play this course well. I left my range finder in the cart when we finished. I called them Monday morning and they had it at the front desk so we booked a tee time to go pick it up. We enjoyed it again the second day. Everyone was very friendly there Monday. We will definitely go back many times.
great little course
For a relatively short course it has all of the character of a much larger course . Some elevated greens ,some water ,hills , straight holes ,doglegs . I loved it .
My wife loved it too . The ladies tees were significantly shorter than the seniors tees .( my wife doesn't hit the ball very far - this made her day better )
The course was in good shape and clean . I will play there again .
Highly Recommend
Course is in great condition tee to green. Most fairways were firm allowing for good run. Green speed was moderate. Subtle breaks offer a good challenge without being overly difficult. Seemed to be a busy Friday afternoon but pace was perfect as we finished right at 4 hours. As always, staff was very friendly and helpful. Have played the course 4 or 5 times now and always enjoy my round. I will continue to recommend Olde Homeplace.
Nice course and layout
Overall the course was in very good condition, a couple of fairways were cut a little close but the greens were in excellent condition. Nice layout and good value for the price.
Great course.
course sets up nicely for left to right game, in great shape. Just a really fun course to play and 2 of us played 18 in under 3 hours.
Well maintained course, clean from clubhouse to carts!
No complaints. Best maintained bunkers anywhere. Played from middle tees and course was fairly easy. May play from back tees next trip for bigger challenge. Normally shoot low 80's shot 79 with a triple.
No bad lies in fairways, plenty of grass. Greens in good shape, almost recovered from aeration, putted true, good speed.
Good hotdogs!
Will definitely go back!
player friendly
like the course......very busy the day we played...fairways in excellent shape..they even had a ranger that worked
Great value for the money!
Very easy course and is maintained very well by the staff. Fairways are nicely mowed, greens are in good condition, and the staff is super nice.
For the money, the value is phenomenal.
Would highly recommend for beginner to novice players.
wonderful course for the money
Greens were super nice, elevation changes made this a really fun course to play
great lay out
It was in good shape greens had a lot of ball marks on them but over all good experience.
beginners only
Easy course great place for new players. Speed of play was slow with 2 5somes ahead including kids getting lessons.
The fairways and tee box grass could be a little shorter. Perhaps recent rains prevented cut.
Solid experience and fun design. Nice folks at the clubhouse.
Course Value
Affordable and delightfully challenging. Not too difficult but course uses terrain very well.
