Much improved
New owners are working hard to improve conditions --including tee boxes, cart-paths, fairway sod, bridge/stairway replacement. We were impressed with the friendly staff and will be sure to return soon.
New Management is awesome!!
I see the course trending in the right direction. Course is not in perfect condition, but much better than it was with previous management. New management is awesome and working hard to improve the course. Well worth the money for what you get!!
Good experience
The course wasn’t in bad shape the staff is doing a lot of renovations and putting new sod down still some iffy spots on some fairways. The greens were good just kind of slow. It’s a pretty narrow course but all and all for the money it was a good round I’d say it’s more for beginners or lower level players. Better players are probably gonna want to play at a little nicer of a course but the pace of play was great staff was great and I’d go back for the money only $10 for a hot deal!
Excellent course
A fine course with a perfect degree of difficulty, some holes forgiving, others not so much. The new owners are tremendous people and care about their customers and their experience. Had a wonderful day on the greens and I will be back soon
Needs Work
First off, staff was super nice. New ownership, has some new sod on the way-it’s needed. Course has a lot of dead spots. Many greens are rock hard. Most problematic was the layout and “maps.” Those definitely need some updating. I’d check it out once more $ is put into it. For a cheap round though, it is very challenging and can be a good round.
Nice Round
Yadkin Country Club is a nice place to play golf. It’s a nice value and the greens roll nicely. You get to hit plenty of different shots and have chances to score.
Been a while
New course owners awe makin improvements. Friendly staff was a breath of fresh air from the past unfriendliness that have kept many away.
Still wishing they would move up red tee box on 15. Drive will set u (women) right in the creek. A lay up on this long par 5 is what im forced to do. So then i must strong arm it on the second and third shots only to find myself still short of a GIF.
Otherwise, i would definitely return soon. Decent shape for the golfnow money.
Hurt my back
Wow, thought i wound give it a shot and just ended up with a bad back.
Staff was friendly enough, 10:30 on a Monday I had the course pretty much by myself.
Horrible fairways, big BIG patches of clay. But make sure you drive on the grass, unless you like off roading. Hit many of bumps and screwed my back up.
Went to pro shop after nine to get something to munch on. Unless M & Ms do the trick for you, maybe pack a lunch.
Overall not happy at all.
Awful
Greens are good. Pace of play is excellent. We were the only car in the parking lot on a nice Saturday and now I know why. Barren spots all over the place in addition to spots so high you couldn’t find a ball. Guy in the pro shop had never heard of customer service. Will never play again.
Great layout
Love to play this course. Very good staff. Very good price. Not always in great shape but getting better every time I return.
Save your money
Got this round using hot deal on golf now which they don't care for by the way..paid total of $3.49 using promo code and still feel it was overpriced.I put pace of play as excellent due to the fact no one was playing,,,I know the course is for sale and would make great farm land due to how little work it would need
The course has many issues
The golf course was in fair shape Lotta holes were blind tee shots and creeks were not marked on the map when we got to hole number 17 there was no 17 it was 8 took us 15 minutes to find which hole was 17. Golf carts were gas and very slow could walk and keep up. Cart paths were terrible. Need kidney belt for the rough ride
Good Country Course
Good variety of holes. Trees often come into play if you are not down the middle player, some water but only on a few holes. Terrain is hilly, bare spots in some of fair ways.
Forward tees are a big advantage over blue and white tees giving women and seniors a comfortable distance to the green.
Not Worth the Time
I had never heard of this course until I saw it on GolfNow in the hot deals. I took the chance and decided to go play with one of my buddies, terrible decision. The people working in the shop were very nice and had great intent. There were drinks and a few snacks available which made the experience just a little better. After this there was not one positive thing about the place. The greens were about the only area on the course that even looked maintained. The fairways were some of the most patchy fairways I have ever seen, dirt everywhere. The "roughs" were also patchy with dirt everywhere. What rough there was was mowed so patchy some looked as if it was just mowed some atrociously long making it very difficult to find a ball that didn't find the fairway. The tee boxes were so long that when I teed up my ball it was maybe 1 inch above the top of the grass. The course is clearly struggling for money there is no merchandise or anything in the pro shop besides a couple snacks and some scuffed up used golf balls they were selling for .50 cents a piece. I have worked golf course maintenance for 3 years and I know a lot about course upkeep and this course could use a lot of work. I paid $8 to play and still felt like it was too much. The cart paths were terrible with pot holes making them so bumpy, spent the whole day bouncing around. This course is in some of the worse condition other than the greens which are merely average. I have included a picture to give an idea of the fairways and this is one of the better fairways on the course.
