Good Course Good Rate
First time playing this course, the rate is very good and the staff are very friendly. The course is an interesting layout, a lot of doglegs and some blind shots. The overall condition is average, fairways are OK, rough is, well rough, bunkers are not very good, greens are good, receptive and roll reasonably well. Will play again now that I've seen the track, the rate makes this almost a must play. Sub $30 rate with cart is excellent.
Fine for the price
Went out with my son for a spur of the moment round. The lady in the clubhouse was great and make things easy to get started. Greens were solid, fairways were hit and miss. Worst part was the “cart path”. Was more like rocks but I didn’t have high expectations so for the price it was just fine.
Great value!
I don’t by any means want to covey that the course is ready to be compared to a cedarbrook. However the course is a great place to play if you are looking for value. The day we played we found a 13$ hot now! Riding 18! So we went into the round without high expectations. The greens are in pretty solid shape (for me this is the deal breaker on a course) fairways were good and bad in places. The course is very different, lots of dog leg holes without many “driver” holes at all. Overall it was a great value day. Can’t beat under 20$ and it not be trash. I’d definitely play it again.
Improvement every day
I have been playing this course 2-4 times a week and every single time I go I can see improvement. They have owned it a little more than a year and are doing all the right things. I would definitely recommend coming back if you ever had a negative opinion of the place. It is moving in the right direction.
Continued improvement everywhere you look, great greens
Play here about once a month and everytime notice improvements. Opened up some of the woods on a few holes and noticed some new sod in places. Fairways looking great, the few bad spots are irrelevant as the ball rolls through. Greens are always smooth. Super friendly staff in the shop and on course.
Today’s round 7/13
Got a deal for a round for $12 so I decided to go and play. The staff was friendly. Tee boxes were in good shape Along with the greens. The fairways had some bare spots but if you’re fine with taking a club or two length then it was no big deal. Would go play again
Good value for the cost
We always look for courses that are not crowded and don’t feel rushed. This course was a great value ( GolfNow discount) and a fun time. The fairways and greens are in pretty good shape. The cart paths could use some work. The clubhouse was clean and staff was uber efficient and nice.
More improvements every time
Greens were super smooth, moderate pace. New management is doing more work every time i go to improve course. Plus, nice poos and water features for the family open during the summer
Scenic Layout
First time playing here. Nice rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways. Greens were small, but they rolled true and nice. Some bad spots on them but not enough to be distracting. Two major distractions: (1) there were lots of bare spots/areas in most fairways, and (2) cart paths were either in deplorable repair or non-existent. The overall conditions certainly did not provide a “country club” feel. Yet, it was an enjoyable round in spite of these issues, even on Father’s Day when the pace of play was slow.
Watch out for replays
The course was in good shape. The greens rolled true. The only problem we encountered was trying to replay 9 holes. It has always cost us $5, but they wanted $12 for 9 holes due to the fact we booked through GolfNow instead of directly through Yadkin CC!
Had hopes
I’m someone who never reviews anything.
But...
We showed up to play a course I’d never played. I knew it wouldn’t be exquisite or high priced golf but rather a chance to get into the sunshine in a gorgeous part of our state.
Some significant bits of the fairway were lunar surfaces where you better be ready to take 2 club relief. It’s what we would call Billy Goat golf. Lots of awkward stances and frighteningly under maintained fairways. Greens were fairly fantastic all around. It was quite a contrast between tee boxes of dirt, fairways of rocky terrain and smooth spotless greens.
Staff was perfectly pleasant. Please know club staff was following their protocol I am sure, but my tiny son and wife were along for the ride to watch my game unravel and yet we were charged a ‘rider fee’ of $12. Took a borderline overpriced round to something that will be ‘never again’. Oak Valley, Salem Glen, Tanglewood have never charged for family to ride on my cart containing a single bag.
Anywho. Feel free to play it with expectations fairly low. It’s a nice place to roll around on a glorious weather day. I suppose.
Staff was very courteous, the greens were awesome but the the fairways and tee boxes were overall in bad shape. The county should help subsidize some operational costs and improve conditions and they could have a real gem there.
Great Greens, bad everything else
The greens are the outstanding feature of the course. The rest of the course was fair to poor. The cart paths were too broken up to ride on. Even though we were at the height of spring greenery, the fairways had multiple bare patches. Because of the bare fairways you were forced to hit to where the ball wouldn't roll off into the rough instead of where you wanted to land it for a good approach shot. Even for the price the course wasn't worth it. We won't be back.
like the layout. greens are usually very good but had been punched recently.there was no warning of that by GN or the course.disappointing! not a lot of improvement by new owners from last year. no grass on fairways. may be better later in the summer when bermuda comes out
Great value
Great course for the low price. No one in front or behind us in a weekday morning. Was able to really learn and take a couple shots off each. Course is in okay shape, greens are very very nice but there were some muddy root spots on the fairway. The cart path is rough, that’s the only true downfall I felt. Really bumpy. I would definitely Play again!
