Course has no 18th hole now.

Very challenging course. Next year this course will be a 9 hole course instead of 18. Too bad, will not make the 35min. Trip for. 9 holes.

challenging and fun

A cart is supplied with the price and you need it. The course is challenging and fun. You may loose a few balls but while looking you will find many balls.

Disappointed

Played last year and was very impressed. Course shape has deteriorated, greens and tee boxes in horrible shape. Heard there is plans to go from 18 to 9 holes, so I guess they haven't planned on maintaining. Too bad.

Not Worth Any Price!

This course has many serious flaws! Bare (down to the dirt) spots all over the greens; dangerous wooden bridges (missing and rotted boards, exposed spikes); boulders and loose gravel on all cart paths (even the steep ones); many fairways in poor condition. Bottom line, save your money. This course is not worth any price to play again.

Lots of potential and absurdly challanging

We played the first 9 from the third longest tees, (black diamonds) until we found the last page in the yardage book that lists the following:

Green Circle: Rating: 65.1 Slope: 118
An enjoyable course of average difficulty. Reccomended for those with handicaps 21+

Blue Square: Rating: 69.3 Slope: 125
Donald Ross would play from these tees- easy bogey, difficult par. Handicaps 11-20.

Black Diamond: Rating: 72.5 Slope: 136
Equate the challenge to a TPC course. Handicaps 1-10.

Double Black Diamond Rating: 74.9 Slope: 149
Comparable to a US Open course. Reccomended for those with 0 handicaps or better.

Needless to say we played the back from the blue but probably should have played from the greens. Very few easy holes except for a couple 200+ yard par 3's, everything else has multiple water (and other) hazards per hole, blind shots, elevation changes... Bring a bag of balls, if you go OB there is no chance at finding your ball.

Conditions are sad, this could be a beautiful course but the tee boxes are largely dirt and crab grass, fairways were a mixed bag and rough hadn't been cut recently but that may be due to all the rain they have had recently in combination with the hilly terrain is most likely not condisive to a mower.

I will probably play here again at some point but in present condition I don't think its worth much more then $25-30

Ok course with spectacular views - ski resort in the winter

The best summary I can give is that every hole was a postcard. The young person in the pro shop was friendly but was not a golfer so couldn't even tell me if we came by the pro shop (which had zero food or snacks) at the turn. We didn't, which didn't matter because the snack bar isn't open on Sunday.. The course wasn't very well marked for hazards and yardage distances. That was particularly important since it was the first course I've played in quite awhile that wasn't one of the 20,000 on my Garmin. The greens were still healing from aerations but rolled OK. I am a short, straight hitter and have been playing with the same ball for the last 10 years. I lost 5 balls here! Primarily due to not knowing carry distances to the many ravines. Great day in the mountains of NH. We expected to see a moose, but alas, we did not. Make sure your 15th and 16th clubs are a camera and a sandwich.

Ragged is Right!

This course has spectacular views, lots of vertical and could be exceptional with some money, time and attention. However the greens are diseased and half sand, the fairways are crunchy (yes, crunchy) and the tee boxes are an afterthought and thick mower clippings were abundant. The cart paths are downright scary - they need to rent quads instead of golf carts - and the 97 bridges scattered throughout the course are so dilapidated its a wonder nobody has fallen through into the numerous rushing streams or impaled their cart's tires on the numerous nails that protrude and had to walk in. Think Disneyland Bobsleds ride and STAY ON THE PLANKS! Note: walking this course is only for mountain goats.

On the other hand, i paid $36 dollars for two plus a cart, so the value made the conditions more tolerable. As for the play, from the diamond tees (a la blue tees) many tee shots are blind and the waste areas and creeks that cross almost every fairway are often hidden. The bunkers are overgrown with weeds (hence, are real hazards). The yardage numbers in the little booklet you are given at the pro shop don't play right on the course, and you will constantly guess which club to play from the tees.

As a "resort" course, i expected much more. They hadn't shagged balls at their makeshift range, thus we couldn't warm up. The pub never opened, so there was no food and nearly no drinks available. Bring your own! At least they had an operable restroom.

In summary, this was real adventure golf. It felt like 6500 yards of the Captains Cove, minus the moving parts. Bring food and drink, lots of balls, get a good price on this website, and go have an afternoon of golf like you've never played it before. Hang on tightly to that golf cart though, and be prepared to shake rattle and roll on the cart paths. Be prepared to shoot 15 over your handicap. The good news, if you play it again you can probably shave 15 strokes off your score.

Considering the recent weather conditions.......I thought they've done a great job with the course.

The fact that it was snowing there just 3 weeks ago and the amount of rain, I found the course to be in great shape. i live in NC. and when I come to NH. This is a must play course for me.

The staff from clubhouse to course maintenance was very friendly. The scenery is unmatched by all other courses in the area.

Beautiful mountain views but course is poor

The course needs major work in every way.
The pros are beautiful mountain views and it was inexpensive to play.
Extremely difficult course to play. Lots of wetlands and ditches.
If you like a challenge and don't mind playing a course that needs major work, then give it a shot. Plan to lose at least a dozen balls!6/

Bring alot of balls and keep your driver in the bag.

Golfed this course on a hot deal. Extremely beautiful setting however once I stated golfing became very frustrated. Not a forgiving course. Lots of blind greens and many hazards in the fairways to overcome. Back nine (too little too late) I finally got it and left the driver in the bag. Almost every hole required some laying up because a stream or gulley ran through almost every fairway. (none of the areas were groomed)
I only paid 10 bucks so no big deal but I golf frequently and did not have the greatest of times. Maybe I'll try it again for the challenge of it.

Very challenging couse/ Bad greens

Well where do I start.

Sadly the Only great part of this couse was the location. The course begins on the side of a mountain, which leads you down into beautiful grassy open fields.

To start the greens were horrible. Tons of sand covering most of the greens and on top of the most of the green that was showing was covered with dead grass. I got a deal online so it only cost me $25 for 18. I think it should of been more like $15. I do not know how they get away with charging $40 on a weekday.

The fairways weren't bad but over all the course was so challenging that it really took the fun out of it.

I wont be heading out to Ragged Mt golf couse any time soon.

Great Scenery, Lackluster Play

The course offers phenomenal views of the White Mountains and New Hampshire's country, but the course really needed some attention. Some greens were aerated, but some were literally like putting on the beach. Tee boxes weren't mowed and needed patching up badly. All in all, we only paid $30 for 18 holes with a cart, and still felt like we overpaid. With some serious attention this course could be a great course with unbeatable views.

Breathtaking views!

The staff at this beautiful course is outstanding. Ragged provides the most wonderful panoramic views! This course can be challenging, but once you've played it, one can easily anticipate where to place your shots. It's an exciting course and pushes you to play your best. Absolutely a terrific deal!

Unique mountain course

This is a very interesting mountain course with great variation. The course conditions were improved over 2011 and the greens were very good. Cart paths are rough. There are some hazards that cross the fairway that come into play without adequate warning. Be prepared for severe sidehill, uphill, and downhill lies. A fun couse that you will shake your head a few times as your ball disappears into the wools or hazards.

They try to help you out.

When you check in at the pro shop, you are given a "booklet" with helpful hints on playing each hole. This is extremely helpful on a course you have never played and for that matter a very difficult course without some guidance. It made our game much less frustrating and significantly more enjoyable.

Pretty Good course for the price

This course was pretty good for the price. A few of the holes needed a little bit of care. They were fairly burned up. Some of the greens seemed to be a bit longer than on other holes. Overall though, it was a good course for the price paid.
