Upper Lansdowne Golf Course originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1961, designed by local course architect Jack Kidwell. More than 30 years later, Kidwell revisited the course with Michael Hurzdan and added another nine holes. It was one of his last projects before retirement. Despite being designed at different times, Upper Lansdowne's nines seamlessly blend modern and traditional features to create a diverse course that appeals to a range of skill levels and abilities. The layout features narrow fairways lined with mature trees that are balanced with large, easy-to-read greens. Water hazards come into play on half of the holes. The golf course's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which plays downhill to a peninsula green, offering little room for forgiveness. If you don't hit the green on this hole, you'll most likely be in the water.

Always a great place to play!!!

For the price, this is a fun and challenging course. Been a part of many OHSAA events here and have played here several times. Quaint, quiet, and conveniently off the beaten path! Staff are always outgoing and go the extra mile!

Course is spread out & well maintained.

Course has rolling landscape with ponds, creeks and adequite amount of trees. Tees, fairways and greens are mowed prestinely. It is a course that the novice golfer can enjoy as well as the more experienced golfer. The course. buildings and carts are kept very clean. All the workers make you feel welcome to be there. The food menu is very good and the club house is very clean. They have a club mascot, Bear, a very large lab who welcomes everyone. All the other players that my wife & I have met have been very friendly.

Fun course

I like this course. It plays slow because it always has some older retirees on it, but I'm not in a hurry! I paid $6 on GolfNow, so I can't complain. Hole 15 is my favorite par 4 in Columbus, and one of these days, I am going to eagle it!

Back after several years

Always have liked this course but haven't had a chance to play it in several years. Course layout has changed (for the better) and that made it interesting and fun. Greens are huge and fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes need some work but it is late in the golf year.

fast greens

This course was very fun to play. The greens were in perfect condition. You must be very accurate with your approach or you won't be able to hold the green. Very fast. Like putting on velvet. The fairways were in good shape, if a little patchy. The tee layout is a little confusing in some places for the first time around, but if you follow the signs, you won't get lost. Looking forward to playing again.

Nice course for the money.

Nice layout and the fairways and greens were in good shape. The only complaint is the cart paths. They are mostly dirt which caused a lot of dust to be blown up. Clubs, golf bag, and my lungs had a good coating of the dust.

Great course for the average golfer

The course was very busy the day we played. Grass on the fairways was very long (a lot of rain the past two days) greens
were excellent, but very fast . Staff was very nice.
Only one problem, there was a high school girls golf team
playing a practice round, and at no time thought of letting faster
players play thru, even though there were as many as three groups stacked behind them waiting an average of 15 min.
tee off, causing a 5 1/2 hour round. No course ranger to help with pace of play.

The course

It was okay, I id not think it was a very difficult course, the price I paid for was $16, that is probably what I would pay if I decided to play it again. The cart paths were all rocks and dirt, so there was a lot of dust in the air after hitting

super greens; they hold and are quick

great track with a requirement to hit all types of shots. Too much crab grass for my liking which drops my overall rating of the course. Will be playing it more!

The fairways are well maintained. The greens are large and great.

This course is great for those who sometimes can not keep in the fairway. The course is forgiving and great to play.

Large Greens are the best feature

NO two holes are the same. The lay-out is a lot of fun, ranging from 245 to 420 yard par 4's (all of which seem uphill) using the white tees. The greens are huge. When you fail to account for the pin depth (a range-finder is a great tool here), you find yourself with a lot of 40+ foot putts. The staff is very friendly, and the golf is fun. This is a good buy for a neat country course.

The greens were very good for this time of the year.

I thought the course was in very good shape and the greens were smooth with very few ball marks. The length of the holes made it challenging.

Good course

We booked a foursome through GolfNow to play this course. It was a good course to play and a good value for the hot deal that we purchased. It's a nice drive from Columbus through the countryside to get there.

The course was in what I thought was really good shape on our date of play. There were no major problems or concerns from my recollection.

Would play this course again if the right deal came up on GolfNow.

Really nice greens, decent everything else.

The greens were really nice. The fairways were decent but not great. It wasn't all that long from the tips. I would def play again.

Nice greens but poor fairways and inconsiderate golfers

No real fairways just slightly lower cut of your backyard and many burnt out areas. Half the tee boxes were also in poor condition. Greens were large on most holes and in good Condition. We were followed by a twosome with a blaring boom box in their cart who also felt the need to yell overtop of it. We saw some workers a few times but nothing was said or done about it.
Would play again with deal from golf now but prefer two other courses in the area
