Overall pretty good.
Great shape, especially for the time of year. Would be nice if you could take the cart to get your bags in the lot. Also, the hold plaques are nowhere near the cart path when you pull up to the tee box.
Staff was great, though!
Great Course
Fun course with great layout, players in front that were comically slow did not offer to pass, but the course staff isn’t at fault for this.
Glad to be playing
This course was crowded since it was 70 degrees in March. Groups were full but kept the pace pretty well. The biggest problem was the greens had just been aerated, so there were alot of bumps and sand. So greens were very slow. Wind was quite brutal, so the greens were very fast with the wind. So trying to figure the greens eas tricky.
First time out this year
Friendly staff . greens were just airiated so they were not great. If my partner would have showed up on time we wouldn't have got stuck behind slow players . that's why the pace was slow . still love the course but the prices could be better .
Great shape
Course was in great shape for this time of year. I admittedly expected that, but only because the staff at Shawnee always does a great job. A treat to be golfing in NE Ohio after Thanksgiving!
This golf course design will certainly test your game!
Every golf club in your bag will be used at some point on this both challenging and enjoyable golf course.
Always a treat
Always enjoy playing here. Pace felt a bit slow but honestly was not that bad once we saw what time we finished. Appreciate the effort made by the grounds crew to blow the leaves off the course. Blessed to have such a great day in November and the course was every bit as nice as the weather was.
Metro
Went super early. I love that they open early so I can get home before everyone wakes up. Starter wouldn’t send me out because it was still dark. Has a par 3 course, which is nice for families. Good location but not at good as Seneca or Manakiki.
Nice metro parks course
If had been awhile since I played Shawnee. The course had switched nines a couple years ago. The new front nine did speed up play but we played the back nine first. We got done in an hour and fifteen minutes minutes. We had to wait on the front nine but play did move rather quickly with mostly twosomes. The greens were aerated. I thought the rates might be lower considering the greens but they weren’t. Also in all it was a fun day.
Great round
The course was i great shape from tee to green. I found the fairway in excellent condition and the roughs full and easy to play out of. The greens had just be aerated but still were still running true. A couple of tee boxes were a little rough but still not bad. I would like to play this course again this year.
Course was in great shape, except for the greens, they were recently aerated. When booking a starting time online, whichever golf app you are using, it should be noted by the course if the greens are being or have recently been aerated. That should be a standard/ requirement.
Shawnee is a good component of the Metroparks group. it does need some TLC, especially as regards some of the trees which are starting to overhang the fairways and greens more than was intended, and they are hindering grass growth in some places where there should be grass. But overall I enjoy the variety of holes, the greens and fairways are reliably in good shape
