Classic Arthur Hills Design
This course is beautiful and challenging from start to finish. If you are looking for a wide open course to spray balls on, this is not for you. There is plenty of danger that exists out there.
This course is always in phenomenal shape. One of the best "bang for your buck" courses in Northwest Ohio. Easily the best public course in the Toledo Metro area.
The course plays tough, yet fair. A shot makers course, it would serve you well to think about your approaches into the greens here.
Gem of a course in NW Ohio
Everything about my experience here yesterday exceeded my expectations. Course, condition, management, hospitality and and food were excellent. Highly recommended.
Could use attention to detail
I feel like the course is lacking the little things that would make a much better experience. Also the staff was a bit rude.
Played this course as part of a golf trip to/around the Cleveland area in late May 2023. This course was included on our itinerary based on its listing as a Top Course by Golf Advisor.
PACE: Played on a Saturday afternoon and the pace was slow. We finished in just under 5 hours. There were 3 groups waiting on #10 tee, and a started that just kept repeating "I don’t know what’s going on.”
CONDITIONS: Tees had lots of divots and were crowning towards the edges. Some bare areas in the fairways/rough. Greens were okay, and looked they had been painted or received some sort of treatment. They did run fast, but not very true (repair your ball marks!). The sand in the bunkers was okay (thin and whispy, if I recall correctly).
STAFF: Got us paid and out on the course.
VALUE: Felt a bit overpriced given the conditions. My 2nd received the senior rate, which seemed more fair.
LAYOUT: Played the White tees (6,000). This is a housing sub-division course. Well placed bunkers and water hazards keep you honest, and wide fairways make the course manageable. The par 3s are entertaining (#16 is kind of like a volcano hole); and the par 5s provide a good challenge. The variety of par 4s allowed me to use all the clubs in my bag. We didn’t walk the course, but there were more than a few walkers out on the course.
Small and Tricky
The fairways are generous and the greens are small and tricky with moguls and traps surrounding them. If u make a par you earned it.
Stone Ridge Golf Course
We're from the Detroit area but we make the trek to Bowling Green,, OH a couple times a year to play this course. It is an Arthur Hills design and is tough yet very playable. Greens were in excellent shape despite it being early October. Every hole is unique and you don't have to worry about errant shots from other fairways hitting you.
Best of the year
Most enjoyable round of the year. Course in excellent shape - immaculate greens. Rough was very unforgiving. Nate in pro shop was welcoming & full of useful info for first-time visitor like me.
Worth it
Stoneridge is a solid course. Somewhere between good and great. It had plenty of water and was not dried out. Fast greens. And plush fairways. The fairways were a little soft in some parts but may have been from watering during dry period last few weeks. Overall they were good though. Pace of play was good and we were allowed to pass a foursome of younger guys on the turn which was nice of them. Not many people out on the course which helped. Course has links characteristics with not many trees, some thick long grass areas. And water on a third of the holes. Bunkers were in good conditions as well for the most part. Always a fun course to play.
Beautiful course
One of the most beautiful and well kept courses in the area!! Great staff, excellent experience
Clubhouse staff
Jonathon is always helpful and goes out of his way and is a great example of a PGA professional
