Greens need help
I enjoyed the layout and challenge. The greens are in bad shape and need attention. I have a feeling the very hot and dry summer took its toll on them.
Used to be great
The course is not maintained well since last fall (2015). Today, sprinklers were on right at the tee box for more than half of the 18 holes so we had to hold on to the sprinklers to tee off. Staffs who were working at the course saw us having troubles with the sprinklers but never came over to help. It was hard to distinguish fairways to the rough because they were not maintained well. Green was very rough making it now easy to roll the ball in line when you putt.
We still love the layout so we hope the management will get the maintenance quality of the course back to how it was couple of years ago!
Very well kept
Really enjoyed my round! Course was in great shape. The orange tees add a nice challenge.
Great deal on a great course
I've played Berkshire before but can't remember it ever being in better shape. The fairways were perfect. The greens were in good shape outside of a couple that were still recovering from this hot Summer. The staff was super friendly and the pace was great. Didn't wait to hit all day and we were a twosome. Highly recommend Berkshire. I'll be back soon.
Course in great shape
Course was in great shape. greens held, fairways bounced and ran.. Staff is very friendly..
GREAT COURSE
EVERYTHING WAS GOOD EXCEPT HAD A THUNDER-STORM WE HAD TO WAIT FOR !
golf now customer
Do not play this course, very poor condition!!! No starter, singles 2somes , pay and go!!!. wait wait!!!
Decent Track
Get what you pay for here. For big hitters you can still hit driver on this a good chunk of the time. Have some tough layout holes with dog legs or water obstruction that create long iron shots. Overall though if you stay down the fairway course difficulty is not an issue. Classic northern course
Rough condition for a once fun course
It's been about 10+ years since I played here so I figured I check Berkshire out. I figured with the recent dry warm stretch the course would be a bit brown so that wasn't surprising. What was surprising was the condition of the greens. Very slow but even worse was how bumpy and inconsistent they were. Some spots were even aerified which is kinda alarming in July. Greens not cut and rolled. Fun layout but not worth going in its present condition. Wouldn't surprise me if this course goes under within a few years
Nice course
I think without the golfnow price the course is overpriced. With some of the cheaper golf now rates like under $20 it's a great value! I say its a $25-$30 course for 18 and a cart. The greens are very challenging. The fairways are kept nice. Playing by yourself on a weekend is tough when a lot of people out, so pace can be slow. They let me go off the back which was nice. Still had a tough time playing through a few groups of foursomes.
Best Bang for your buck
one of the best course in the east side for the price. the ruff need some weed and feed. that is the only complaint
Good Course but stay alert!
I hadn't played here for a few years. The course was in great shape and the weather was perfect. We flew through the front side but caught up with a drunk wslow outing on the back that made it atke 3.5 hours. Also, be very careful on holes 12-15. The holes are very tight with blind shots, They really shouel have a ranger stationed out there for safety purposes!
Good old Berky
Course has stood up well to the test of time. Lovely setting. No car or train noises. Very peaceful and good shape for the weather we've had!
Fairways in great shape. But tee boxes and greens need some attention
1st time I played here and learned that Friday afternoons are not the best time to play as the front 9 was extremely slow. Pace on the back 9 was much better. The tee boxes are in bad shape and need some work. The greens were very bumpy...need be rolled and cut. Fairways were in great shape. Liked the course and will add to my recurring schedule. This course is as nice as Little Mountain and half the price!
Good greens
The course is in excellent shape with smooth greens. The only suggestion is to not get behind an outing of male golfers out to have fun. See if you can start on the back 9 if the course is not busy. We had to skip a couple of holes to get ahead of the 3 foursomes, then went back to play those holes.
