Harbor Pines Golf Club
About
The Harbor Pines Golf Club is a public facility that boasts an 18-hole, four-star golf course with subtle, breaking greens that provide a challenge for all golfers. The holes are very private and the fairways are wide and open.
The environment friendly course is a local favorite and is considered among women to be one of the best courses for women to play on. The beautiful natural landscape with seventeen acres of water and 520 acres of forestry has even been certified as an National Audubon Sanctuary. The relatively flat course does offer challenges for experienced golfers but it will not be too difficult for intermediate or beginning golfers. Both the 16th and 17th holes are difficult par-4's and the course has various hazards scattered throughout.

Buyer Beware!!
So I booked a “Hot Deal” on golfnow. It was for a 3:36 tee time, which was plenty of time to get in 18 holes before sun down
I arrived 15 minutes early and was paired with another single. There was another cart with 2 bags parked next to us, and after waiting until 4:00 I finally asked who we were waiting for. My partner explained that we are waiting for the course to clear of an event, a scramble that had begun at 11:00 AM. They were still on the course. We were advised that the event players were all on their last holes and that we would be able to start soon. After another 10 minutes we were sent to the 10th tee and were told that the hole would be open.
Upon pulling up to the 10th tee box we witnessed (2) foursomes just teeing off. Not only were they not playing best ball they were all intoxicated and hitting horrible. It was obvious that we were not going to be able to get in 18 holes
I returned to the pro shop and when I asked for a refund or possibly a voucher to play another day, I was treated like a huge inconvenience. I was informed that there was nothing that could be done and that I would have to contact golf now because, “ they don’t see a dime of the money”
When I walked back to the 10th tee box the intoxicatined group were still only about 200 yards down the fairway and now there was another (6) golfers on the tee telling us that they too where part of the event. Another 10 minutes had gone by and while still waiting for the additional players to tee off, we were advised by the starter to go to #11.
We proceeded to #11 where the drunken (8) players from #10 where now on the tee box. When we asked if this was their last hole we were advised that they still had 3 more holes. We decided to continue on and finally found an opening at #14
We ran into another foursome on #15 that were not part of the scramble but had just jumped in, apparently that was the only way to find an opening. Needless to say we were not able to play the entire course. It finally opened up on #1, the only reason we’re were able to get in the front 9 was that the 2 of us played quickly....it is a shame because Harbor Pines is a very nice course but due to a serious over booking and inadequate management the experience was very bad..I titled this review as “buyer beware” sometime a “good” deal isn’t what it appears to be.....
Windy and warm
It was nice to play a well manicured track. Course was soft but dry
Bad Greens Super Slow Play
Great friendly staff. Wonderful environment. Greens were absolutely awful and 18 holes took nearly 6 hours.
Harbor Pines April 2024
Even after days of rain, yhe course played extremely well. The friendly staff was amazing and overly accommodating. Course had a challenge for every level of play due to multiple t boxes. A must play course in south jersey.
Nice layout
Nice course friendly staff loved the layout my beef was it had been just aerated fairways and greens and I wasn’t aware just a surprise. We still would have played just little deflated at the start. Im sure it would be great in nice weather. Lots of sand and water
Communication issue
Monday we play with the arrangement to play 18 holes with NO report open issues.
After checking in with the pro shop we learned that they are aerating the back 9 today but we would be OK to play later in the day with no problem.
The PRO shop and Maintenance team are not on their same plan.
No notice in golf now app?
Front 9 was done and playable but putting was not possible.
Very disappointing
Hot deal
Great value for the money. Greens are coming along and aren’t hairy anymore
Good Course
I really liked the layout of the course. A lot of challenges. I played the day after a major rainstorm cause I just wanted to get out of the house. Signs were missing. No hole signs, tee boxes were un marked. But I plan to come back when its nicer out.
Dec golf
Busy day on a beautiful Dec Saturday but staff was on top of slow pace so it moved as well as could be expected
