Pickaway Country Club
About
Pickaway Country Club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Jack Kidwell, a local architect who designed this course and many others in Central Ohio, utilized his familiarity with the terrain but still kept each golf course distinct. Pickaway has an interesting layout that will test your shot-making abilities and strategy with narrow fairways lined with trees and small, fast greens that are difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is one particularly difficult par-5 hole that requires a 250-yard drive over a meandering creek. Although the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges, they are balanced by a number of wide-open fairways that have ample space.

Needs mowed
This is the second time I have played this course. The first time I played here, I really enjoyed the round. When I played this time, I was disappointed in the tee boxes and fairways. I realize that the season is about over but the tee boxes and fairways really needed mowed. I teed off a few holes and the grass was taller then my teed-up ball. Once in the fairway, there were spots where the grass was just as tall as the ruff. The staff was really friendly and I do really like the course lay-out. I will play here again!!!
Great Environment
The staff were friendly and helpful. The course was beautiful.
Stole a day from winter in Febr
Played a day when Autumn came to February. Myself and good friend felt we had the course to ourselves on a sunny 65* little wind day in late February. The tee boxes were a little heavy and greens a little bouncy but hey it is February. They were definitely playable. This is a course you have to pay attention to which hole you are on and where the next hole is located. A lot of cross crossing and double tee, tee boxes. Having said all this, I really like the course and look forward to playing here.
Still early in the year but needs some work
They need to work on sand traps, cart paths, and all the trash that’s been thrown in the woods all along the course. They also need to cut down the 50+ dead trees all over the course. I get they are in a tough spot. Gotta have money to take care of all these things but charging 40-50 a round with these issues is not gonna get repeat play.
Slow greens
Greens were super slow. Tee boxes no grass ,like a minefield, rough alot of deadpan ,and sparse grass ,ball always in a hole
The bunkers needed some work; not a lot of sand in some of them, and a number had casual water and weren’t playable (it had rained the day before). But the rest of the course was in great condition and gave us a terrific day. This course has undergone a lot of changes over the years, and they’ve been good ones. It’s a fun course to play—doesn’t beat you up, but keeps you honest.
Great course
Very great course condition and fun course layout tee boxes could use a little TLC but other than that no complaints whatsoever
Tee Times to close together, finished 3rd hole and 1st tee was backed probably 6 times deep. Ridiculous!! It’s happed last 2 outings there.
Great experience
Course was in awesome shape, pace of play was very good and staff was extremely nice.
Very slow
Played here 4-5 times this year. Every single time the pace of play has been painfully slow. Sharing tee boxes with the group (or multiple groups) in front of you is way too common. Not sure if it’s overbooking, starter not doing his job, lack of a ranger, or combination or multiple things, but I’ll avoid this course due to the fact that it’s an all day affair to go play golf. Maybe it would be better in the afternoon but I wouldn’t recommend trying to play here in the morning.
Very good course if you don’t mind waiting
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was a little slow.
Beautiful Course!
Greens and fairways were in fantastic condition. The rough was long in spots but fair. The tee boxes could’ve been mown shorter and had several spots with more dirt than grass but great value for such a nice course.
