Fun Challenging Track in Good Shape!
The area has obviously gotten a lot of rain. That being said, I was very pleased with the conditions of the golf course...it was not as wet as I thought it would be. It was cart paths only which I knew about before arriving at the course, so I was fine with it. The apparel available in the pro shop/clubhouse was plentiful and high quality.
Dissapointing
Multiple 5 somes on the course with walkers, killed the pace and my round. Pretty dissapointing when the starter drives right past them and I spent $43 dollars.
Hawks nest
Great course. Has never dissapointed in the 10 years I have been playing here. Got a great deal on a weekend. Highly recommend.
Great Value
Course is in great shape - greens rolling true. Fun and challenging layout. Well worth the drive from Cleveland.
Good
Good course layout, pace of play was good. Lots of elevation change.
Nice course
Course was in good condition...bunkers need some work, but overall good experience....no hot dogs
Great early season condition
The staff is always friendly and very welcoming. The greens are in great shape already and the course is a great challenge for all levels of players.
Golf now unwelcome.
Quote from the starter:
" I'm sick of Golf Now and people like you."
When I showed up early, I was pleased to see the course was WIDE OPEN. NO ONE was waiting to tee off, and NO ONE was booked for the next hour.
Yet....when I asked politely if I could tee off, since there was NO ONE else there. I got a ration of attitude about the fact the I had not paid HIM. And that Golf Now had gotten my money, so I was going to have to wait. For NO ONE.
NO TWO HOLES THE SAME
A LOT OF GREAT ELEVATION CHANGES AND LANDING AREAS THAT CALL FOR CAREFUL CLUB SELECTION. YOU WILL DEFINITLEY USE EVERY CLUB IN YOUR BAG. GREENS WERE FAST AND HARD TO READ. MANY GREENS HAVE DIFFERENT LEVELS THAT WILL KILL YOU IF YOU ARE ON THE WRONG ONE. OVERALL I LOVED IT AND WILL BE BACK.
Great course worth the drive from Cleveland
This is one of the best courses in the area. It is a lot of fun to play and challenging. I lot of beautiful holes and views throughout the course. It has a little bit of everything too. Links holes, tree lined holes, short and long par 4s.
Totally worth the drive from Akron and Cleveland. A great value too.
No 2 holes are the same w/ good variety.
The cour se is in good condition. Better than last year.
Buckeye Country
Haven't played this course in quite some time.
Being an ohio state fan, loved all the OH-IO themed items. Carts were red and grey. Flowers decorated in an "O" by the practice area.
Good course - some challanging holes and pin placements.
If it weren't for such a long drive - would play it more often.
Scenic course
We enjoyed playing here. Our only bad experience was with the course ranger. At least I think thats who he was. He was very rude when we went to get our carts and when we made the turn and we were looking for the bathrooms and water. Otherwise, it was great.
Well conditioned with tons of character!
A hidden gem only 30 minutes sw of akron. Well worth the drive!
A Great Value
We played Hawk's Nest with two other GolfNow customers and had a great time. The price we found was excellent, the course was in good condition, and the company made the round most enjoyable. Now, if I could only play better ...
Have plenty of time
The course was in great shape but pace of play was terrible. Wish the ranger would have sped things up.
Wayne County Gem
$30 after 11 on weekends, crazy. This is one of the nicest public courses in Ohio, the layout is challenging and scenic, and conditions are always top notch. Tee to green it was in great shape. Rolling hills, many interesting hole designs, be sure to try it.
Worth the Drive
Overall a fantastic course., good layout with very slick greens. They need to water the greens more though. It's understandable to let the fairways firm up this time of year, but not the greens. I don't expect to hold a green with a 4 or 5 iron, but my wedges were bouncing over the back. There are a few holes I would change (a 440 par 4 you can't hit driver on, and a 500+ par 5 that is driver-wedge-wedge) This course is not tricked up and the wind adds to the challenge, overall a great afternoon.
Still one of the best in Northeast Ohio
Hawks Nest remains one of my favorite golf courses in Ohio. I've been playing it for more than a decade, and it's only been getting better as the years go by. Conditions are excellent for the price, and the price is very reasonable during peak hours. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled true. Bunkers also were in good condition. They are redoing the fairway bunker on number 7, which will make that difficult hole even harder.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that fact when I was able to recover my coffee mug that fell out of the cart on the first hole.
I will be back a couple of more times before the end of the season.
This is a jewel of a course
Situated in the middle of farm country this course has everything any player wants in a course. Long and short par 3's,4's and 5's. And undulating greens
