Despite being relatively young, Village View Golf Course has nonetheless garnered a reputation amongst locals who consider it to be one of Ohio's must-play courses. It is known for its challenging variety of holes and excellent conditions. The greens are firm and fast. The layout sprawls over gently rolling hills sprinkled with trees, which are concentrated along the narrow fairways. The small, undulating greens demand accuracy. There is no sand on the golf course, instead the challenges come from the numerous water hazards, which come into play on twelve holes. There is a creek that winds through the entire layout, posing a threat along the fairways. Village View Golf Course's notorious fifth hole is the most difficult, it is known for its treacherous island green. The hole was even rated in the top 10 for Ohio's most difficult holes by a local newspaper.

Solid Layout with SoSo Conditions

Course plays through a creek valley which provides a lot of the character and challenge during your round. The valley leads to moderate elevation changes and water carries. The conditions were iffy at best: all bunkers have been abandoned, fairways are transitioning to crabgrass and the greens were quite soft.

IMO the positives outweigh the negatives: great price, good layout, modern built up greens with plenty of undulations all lead to a good day on the course.

Crabgrass and soft sloped greens

I selected noon hot deals tee times from golf now for Labor day. The course would not honor the deal at first because it was a holiday. They tried calling Golf Now but eventually let us play.
Course: No sand, water winds through some fairways. Most greens are sloped and all were spongy soft. Tee boxes, fairways and rough were dry and in need of weed killer, fertilizer and water. Wide open and hilly. Still fun for the hot deal price.

This course has no sand traps.

I like this course because it is challenging with lots of water but no sand traps. The owners are super nice people.

Really?

After moving up here from the south, I've been trying to play as many new courses in and around central Ohio as I can. Read the reviews on this course and it seemed like it would be worth the drive. Went to go check in and owners seemed quite rude. Received key to cart only to find out they didn't have any left with tops. Also noticed that most of the carts were worn out, seats torn and covered in mud. On the course I noticed that the greens were nice but the fairways were horrible. Like hitting from a field. Place of play was super slow. We got stuck behind two older gentlemen riding and two guys walking with them. None of them could hit the ball over 70 yards. They would not let us play through. Also noticed that there were women on the course that were playing in cut off blue jean shorts and tank tops. Did not have a good time. Not worth the drive out there.
