Dales at Community Golf Course
About
Located just south of Dayton amongst rolling hills, The Dales Course at the Community Golf Center facility is one of two regulation length courses that the facility offers. The Dales Course is referred to as the inside course, while the other course, the Hills Course, is called the outside course. Although the two courses are similar, the Dales Course is shorter and more suitable for less skilled players, but there are still interesting challenges nevertheless. Due to the bounty of mature trees, the fairways are relatively narrow. The terrain is rolling and water hazards come into play on a few holes.

You have to love Community
Bottom Line – Community is a Muni – decent shape, fairly easy. If you want to feel good about your game – play the inside (Dales) course and have some fun.
Dales-community
Fun course.hilly,fast play.tight fairways.not too long
Avoid unless desperate
Cart paths are dangerously erroded away. Dandelions are usually not considered desirable. Sand traps are mud pits. Could possibly be a good course if they would take care of it and put some money back into it. Avoid!
Good time
Great course the look and feel of it really makes for a great day.
Review of Community Golf Course
Attendant stating that golfnow.com takes a hidden $10.00 fee that you don't tell the consumer about. Tried to explain to proshop attendant that there have never been any hidden fees incurred by me previously when using golfnow.com. Attendant not informed. Course to hilly to walk pulling a cart. Don't recommend this course.
While we're young?
No regulations for pace of play. The round took 5 hours and 10 mins. The course was not busy. Greens are in good shape, but the fairways and rough are basically the same thing. Bunkers are like concrete. No water on the course and very few ball washers.
Good course/ mediocre staff
Starter was rude. It was my dad and I in a cart and a foursome in front of us walking. Didn't let us pass and the rangers didn't do anything about it to let us play through. On round for us took 4 1/2 hrs. Other than that course is beautiful and a lot of fun
Course has very challenging greens.
I often 3 putt on this course due to the slopes of the greens - a lot harder than it looks.
This course has great scenery.
This course is very convenient and has very friendly personnel. It is well maintained. If you like to walk, it's very doable.
Good
There are 2 18 hole courses. Used to play there as a kid. We played the shorter course and play was fast because no one was holding us up.
good value
The price is right, especially if you get a bargin on line. The greens are smooth but slow. They appear to have been aerated in the past few weeks. If you've never played the course before, there are aa few holes where getting to the next tee becomes confusing. This is due in part to missing or damaged signs at the tee boxes. Speed of play was great on a weekday, but I've played on a weekend and it was quite slow.
Much Improved
I really enjoy playing Community. I don't care Hills or Dales it's a good value and you should need to use all your clubs. Dales is shorter but I never felt its an easier track. Sand's not always in the best of shape but there's never really any water issues there. It gets used a lot so the greens can throw you for a loop as there's a lot of marks on them. The staff is much improved and you can tell pride is being taken in the course.
Nice short course with some hilly challenges
It rained the night before so the sand traps where full of water.
The fairways where fair and well maintained. The greens where good but slow because of the rain.
Nice short game course.
I will try it again today
I love how hilly the course is
36 bucks might a little high but if you book it on a hot deal it is more than worth it. The course was in good shape and the greens were fast.
Nice course.
I've played both the Dales and Hills courses a few times this past year. Both have some very good golf holes. These courses, along with the majority of the courses in the Dayton area, are in good shape due to the amount of rain and cool weather that we have had lately. I enjoy playing both course and will continue to do so for the rest of the season.
Hills is hilly and Dales is a pity.
If you can get past the hilly parts of the Hills and the old trees that have been planted since the town of Kettering was established on the Dales, you will do fine on this course. The staff are a bunch of old, grumpy retirees that think they rightfully own this public course. You get more for your money at Beavercreek or Pipestone.
The course was good
The starter was very gruff (possibly needs more fiber in his diet). We were on the 11th hole when lightening/storm siren sounded, everyone off the course. They would only give us a rain check for 9 holes. Its not worth driving back there for only 9 holes. Other than that it was a great day to be alive!
Course was a little rough
Greens in poor condition. Lots of marks/bruises/burned portions.
Nice course but the greens are just garbage, they look and play horribly
The overall difficulty and play were nice. Very easy to keep track of ball. The only negative were the greens. They looked horrible and the ball would just bounce everywhere. They need some serious attention.
Easy course
Great for the average guy or gal trying to get out. It's not too long so it provides a chance for average golfers to put a few lower scores on the board. It still provides challenges in elavation and a challenging par 3's.
I think I had the same starter (LOL).
