The Eagle Course at Kittyhawk Golf Center is one of three courses at the facility, the other two being another regulation length course and an executive, 18-hole course. These courses are three of only six municipal golf courses in the Dayton area. The Eagle Course is the longest being 400 yards longer than the other regulation course, the Hawk Course. The terrain is flat, making it an easy walk. The fairways are wide open and the greens are large. In addition to several sand bunkers and a scattering of trees, there are man-made lagoons that come into play on 16 holes.

Good Course
All around good course. Great value for the money. Course is very well taken care of. Starter was often seen on cart making sure pace of play was moving along well.
Need Sand
Sand traps were rock hard. No sand only hard dirt and in almost all traps. Other than that course was in great shape. Greens were exceptional.
Its Kittyhawk
This 3 course layout is a staple of Dayton golf. I have played this tract since I was a teenager in the 70's. All 3 courses are fair and challenging.
Going Downhill
I have played this course many times and I'm sad to say that it is going downhill. The bunkers are not maintained and are full of rocks and footprints. The greens are shaggy and slow and the fairways are full of clover. I had to carefully pick a spot to put my tee where there wasn't longer blades of grass behind the ball. Several years ago, the greens putted very nice, but now they are tacky and inconsistent. It's sad the city is not maintaining this course with the racino being built next door. This course has potential to be one of the best municipal courses around if it was taken care of.
First time
The course is fairly open Just a couple of holes that you can get into trouble with water (yes I did), no woods to speak of to hit your ball into. Rough, fairway and greens are well kept. I will differently add this course to my frequently play course.
Love playing Kittyhawk
The course can play very long from the Blue tees. Staff is very friendly and the course is never crowded.
good
Course played nice for middle of day and middle of week
Very good place to play
This is one of my favorite place to play. they have to golf courses and they are both challanging. Both courses are allways in great shape.
I will be playing here for a long time.
golfnow value
overall conditions were good except sand traps....need some sand in them and remove the pebbles
Some pluses and minuses
I think its only a value if you get a deal on it. I was impressed by the design and the condition of fairways and greens are above average. A very true putting surface. I couldn't get past the dandelions though. My great round was hampered by 9 lost balls within 20ft of the fairway. A basic weekly cut of the rough would have made a world of difference because the otherwise nice course was hidden by all the dandelions.
Should be much better
Nice layout for a muni, but the couse was in bad shape. The tee boxes were uneven and hadn't been mowed, the greens had multiple bare spots. I hadn't played this course for 20 years and was hoping for far better course maintenance after hearing of many course upgrades. Very disappointed.
Greens in very good shape
We played as a foursome on a Tuesday afternoon.Seven different singles and twosomes were allowed to play through which delayed the round,
fairways like rough
Fairways really needed some upkeep, it was like playing out of the rough most holes. Too much unnecessary water on just about every hole. They were doing some sort of maintenance on the course that provided for loud machinery, hoses running across the course and the air reeking like exhaust fumes throughout. Sand was hard. The greens were very nice. Play was very very slow, almost 5 hours for myself and a friend, everybody seemed to be walking with a foursome. Doubt i'll be back although 20$ from golfnow wasn't too bad a price
course in good shape,
I play here on a regular basis...HOT today..but course conditions were good considering the hot weather. greens in good shape.putting surface was great.
Course is a good value and walkable.
I played during the week and is was not crowded. Staff is friendly on the course and in the restaurant/bar area. Good value for a moderately challenging course.
course in great condition
i was very happy with the condition of the course. greens were excellent
Nice muni course
I only play this course when I can get a good deal on GolfNow. At about $36 it is a bit pricey to me for a muni course. Well maintained. Spring conditions... lots of green grass. I've played it in the heat of the summer and it is not as green. Very flat... no elevation changes to speak of. Nicely maintained bunkers. Outdoor driving range is very nice and reasonable fee for buckets of balls. Easy course to walk. Holes are relatively close together. You can easily see the other holes and golfers, hence can feel crowded at times. I would rate this a 3.5 stars if it were possible in the GolfNow rating system.
