About
Franklin Golf Course is a player-friendly, nine-hole course that is perfect for beginners. At 2,559 yards from the tips, the course plays to a par of 35. While the layout is not exactly a challenge, it does provide a quick round that is good for some practice. The bentgrass greens are well-maintained and putt true. There is no water on the course but there are a few strategically placed bunkers throughout. The hazards are nothing too serious though. The traditional layout has remained largely unchanged since opening in 1941. The golf course easily accommodates those who are new to the game but seasoned players looking for a challenging round will have to go elsewhere though the affordable rates are enough to appeal to any skill level.

Great course
This was my second time playing this course. Really liked this. I'm a beginner and this course is perfect to learn this sport.
Welcoming and friendly
I am a “beginner” golfer according to my scorecard but have had the chance to see many of the golf courses in the area due to the line of work that I am in. This course is not the most glamorous and I doubt that you will find a surf & turf option on the menu in the clubhouse but it is perfect for me! The laid back atmosphere and the staff friendliness are second to none. I was often intimidated by a golf course and used that fear to keep me off the links. This course and staff make you feel right at home and are there to help. Matt is the new head grounds keeper and he spends his free time helping direct new players around the course and just stoping by each group to say hello, offer a few course tips, and get your feedback. I’m actually considering spending the $299 to become a member. This course is perfect for what it is and the staff is super friendly! Thanks for letting this fella feel comfortable on a course!
This course great
Course was deceptively tough. Was challenging and a great change from the larger course. Look forward to another round.
Good for beginners
Really nice staff, and a cheap course. The layout is a bit confusing, and the fairways are pretty tough to recognize. We played 18 holes, so we played 2 loops. The only hole that actually changes is the 13th. And you hit off the same tee box. It did get quite confusing due to the fairways being tough to recognize. The course is not we'll kept at all. Finding your ball is not as easy as it should be even in the fairways due to talk grass. I would recommend making a tee time by calling rather than doing it online, it is cheaper by calling.
Fairways and pace
The fairways were not well kept. It was very hard to even tell them apart from the rough. The course had a good design to it, just not well kept. It got a little backed up because people were playing 18 on a 9 hole course so the first hole tee box was very crowded. My group could not even tee off until 20 minutes until after we were scheduled too. The staff was very nice however.
Great course for beginner
Somewhat challenging course for begginer but I liked it. Staff is very friendly. Will go there anytime agin!

Enjoyed the challenge of the slopes everyone is so friendly here!!!
If the fairways were more recognizable I would play the course often. Everything except the course quality was excellent. Wish they worked harder on fairways and tee boxes.
Out of control life members
My Tee time was 10:00 I was a single.
Had to follow two slow foursomes the entire front nine with go offer to play through.
On ten they were not on the tee so I tried to tee off. An argument ensued and they demanded I could not play through. They actually hit into me while I was trying to hit from the short tee box.
When I reported this I was told they were Life Members.

Franklin course in better condition this year
I surprised how much better the course was this year than last year. The greens were actually green and a little on the fast side. The fairways were nice and green but a little long. The rough is still too long. Still the place where I lose the most balls when I play. I hate hitting a great shot slightly off the fairway and can't find my ball. I guess I should keep it in the fairway.
