Hemlock Springs Golf Club

I have been playing at Hemlock for right around 50 years. There have been a lot of positive changes and improvements. My wife especially likes the landscape changes with the addition of bushes and flowers and such. The course is really great and the staff is friendly and great. Would recommend it to anyone.

Hemlock is one of my favorites. Great layout. Love that you don't see any houses while playing. Love the secluded nature of the course.
My only concern has been the greens. It was always a course with quicker greens. Where you were afraid of downhill putts. They are very lush, green and without any burned-out patches. Look Great! Lately..last two years.. have been very Slow. I don't want or like lightning fast. But Lately they seem much slower than other publics. Seems like they just need to be rolled a little. Painfully slow, have make huge swing to hit 20 footer.
I will still play, and do still recommend it. I hope they are working on speeding them up.

This course is in good shape and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Location is somewhat out of the way but not too bad. I highly recommend playing golf here.

Great course, well maintained and nice layout. These folks always go the extra mile to make sure you are having a good golf experience. Value is outstanding. Only downfall is they are so far out away from most people. Its worth the 40 minute drive for most of us.

Only thing that was disappointing was this was the course’s first weekend open and they hadn’t had the kitchen cleaned or ready. They only had bagged food available.

Visiting from out of town and had a few hours to kill. Front was a little damp from recent rains. Greens were in great condition for March. Overall great experience. Staff is super friendly.

Really nice course. Lots of fun and challenging holes. If you play it, pay attention to the scorecard. Every hole has its own name. Pretty cool.

I enjoy Hemlock, layout is good for any golfer. Plenty of trees, creeks, and sand to challenge your game. Greens in good shape, fairways need more grass but not too bad. Staff always very nice. Pace of play great .

Good course. Challenging layout. It’s about a 40 minute drive for me and it’s worth it.

Corse itself was in pretty good shape. Airated greens were very bumpy and would change direction of your ball

I booked the round the day before and nowhere did it say on GolfNow/Teeoff that the greens were aerated the night before so putting was impossible. I focused on how I played from tee to green and the course is nice from tee to green. If the greens were normal and in good shape, this would have been a 4 or 5 star rating

Really like this course. Lots of character. No houses. Nice challenge. Friendly staff.

The course itself was in fabulous shape and was well taken care of. However all the holes are pretty much open to the adjoining holes. Meaning when you are on 1 tee you can see about 6 additional holes around you. This takes away from the seclusion you get playing with your group. Plus other from other holes were constantly hitting balls into our holes and we had to wait for that. The biggest Peeve was they let people walk. So if you have a cart and are behind walkers it kills the pace of play horribly. the 10 minute tee times are fine as long as you are not behind walkers as they take more than 10 minutes to complete a standard hole. We had a 4 some of walkers and we were 4 carts backed up behind them. And nope, the were not kind enough to let anyone play through. Course was in great shape though. For the money its worth playing once.

Course is in very good shape for the drought conditions of the summer. Staff & management are friendly, obligating and thankful for everyone that comes to golf ... and expresses it. They have the best hot dogs east of the Mississippi.
