Geneva-on-the-Lake Golf Course

The greens are is really bad shape. Understandably the fairways are not in good shape because of the frequent rain we have been getting. On the positive side the course has some challenging holes.

The pace of play was excellent because there were only half a dozen other golfers on the course, and the only foursome let me play through as a single.

When I arrived I was told that the Back 9 was closed because it was "flooded." It was cart path only on the front 9 because of all of the ponded water. The fairways were in poor condition, especially #7, which was a field of clover. The cart paths were also in poor condition, with broken asphalt and large pools of water.

I did not see ball washers on any holes, nor any coolers with drinking water. I did find quite a few empty beer cans and bottles strewn around the course, though. This is without question the worst maintained golf course that I've played in years.

I used to work there when van hicks ran it., and it was always in nice condition for gotl. This year rough high!!! Brownish orange greens!!!!! But for ten dollars it was okay... It's sad when the old deer lake gc was better than gotl now!!!

My only knock on the course is that I wish the greens were quicker. They were painfully slow, although rolled really nice. BUT......the rest of the course was in great shape. I really do enjoy playing there. A lot of tricky holes to keep you on your toes and a great layout. Pace of play was phenomenal. The course was packed and we were able to play 18 in just under 3:45. The staff is as nice as can be. Make sure to hit that 6 foot putt like a 12 footer and you can have a very nice day out in Geneva on the Lake.

Definately would play this course again, especially for 14.50 w/cart.

Probably the biggest cow pasture I have ever played in my life and I paid $30 to do so....

Very poor maintained course. Fairways uncut, high rough and the areas outside the rough even higher. Spent lots of time hunting for our balls. Several tee boxes had high grass as well. Contacted the course and they said earlier in the week they had lots of rain in area and could not mow. Well it looked like they had not mowed in weeks. Would not recommend you spend you money to play this course at all.

This course is flat plane, which makes for easier play for me. Wide open fairways so not too tough to stay in fairways. Pace goes smoothly for a 3 1/2 hr game. Some lay up holes adds interest to the round. Staff friendly. Price great through Golf Now.

Area had 2 1/2 of rain two days before we played course so there was a lot of standing water. other than that it was a very beautiful course to play. Very enjoyable. Best hot dogs on the turn that we have ever had.

You might want to look else where if it rains the night before as this course can not hold any water. Fairways and greens on every hole had standing water. Good course for the money if it stays dry.
