Turtle Creek Golf Course
About
Formerly known as Greenville Country Club, Turtle Creek Golf Course has been around since 1921, making it one of the area's oldest courses. Despite its long history, the relatively unknown course is known as one of the Miami Valley's best-kept secrets. It has a traditional layout that sprawls across acres of lush countryside, situated just outside of Greenville. The landscape is fairly wooded, requiring a bit of accuracy in order to maneuver through some of the narrow openings provided by the trees. There is a stream meandering across the golf course that comes into play on several holes. A few strategically placed bunkers also lurk around some of the greens. Turtle Creek Golf Course is player friendly enough for beginners but it is still an interesting round for more advanced players.

Turtle Creek - pleasantly surprised!
So it turns out this used to be a private club and it shows in the layout of the course. It has the feel of a mature country club that has been opened to the public. There was actually a 5-some in front of me which might have been an annoyance but they kept their pace up fairly well and it forced me to make some friends and join the 2-some behind me - guys that were members. That's how I found out it used to be a private club. Lots of very nice elevation changes. Some greens are small, but they rolled really true and fast. Some wide open holes and some very tight tee-shots as well. An overall great experience and would not hesitate to go back again. Thanks Turtle Creek!
Great day
The course was in great condition and it was a beautiful day
Perfect day!
Beautiful course in great condition, friendly staff, and perfect weather !! What else could a golfer ask for ?
Excellent course.
I was very happy to play there. Actually it was first time for me but the course made me very happy because the course was excellent to play.
Wonderful lay out, great maintenance, etc. I strongly recommend this course to everyone to play golf. I definitely come back again soon.
Not a bad track
This was my forest time playing this course and the first thing that stands out, is the friendliness of the staff and others that were playing! We met 3 ladies playing and they were the friendliest group and even helped me locate a mishit ball. The course has plenty of trouble(ponds, hills and trees), as well as fairway and green side bunkers to draw you attention and ball to. There are 4 tee boxes and gall looked as good as the fairways; very little drought conditiins. Due to the scramble they had lined up for the afternoon, I did not get a chance to visit the grill, but signs posted on the carts, indicated sandwiches at the turn.
We have added this to our list of course to play again; if in the area, try it out!
good day on the course
The course was in great shape. It was a perfect day to play and we were able to play 18 in around three hours .
Great Course - Better Staff
My wife and I visited the Greenville area for a long golf weekend. I found Turtle Creek online and had a wonderful experience. The course is a Pete Dye design on the front nine. It's an old, traditional, treelined course with tight fairways and small greens course which will challenge every club in your bag. The back nine has a few open holes but they are more than enough for any golfer.
The best part was the friendly staff. A young man named Bobby (Assistant Pro) in the pro shop was one of the nicest, most engaging persons we've ever met. He made the entire day an absolute joy.
I would highly recommend the course.
