Wonderful, historic design.
Course is in great shape always, never disappoints.
Amazing course
For November this course is in amazing shape. The greens arent quite as quick as they normally are in the summer but they are still in fantastic condition
Must play again
Elks Club has every right to be proud of this 27 hole layout. Tees, fairways, and greens were in excellent condition. Course conditions not given "pristine" rating, as many bunkers require maintenance attention. But if you don't hit into them....
Considerable number of blind shots (doglegs & elevation changes), so course knowledge has it's advantages. Pace of play just under 4 hours. Looking forward to going back.
Played the original 18.
We played the original 18. Staff was very friendly. Teed off about 10 minutes ahead of our scheduled time. Found the course in good condition. Keep your ball below the pin.
Great place to play
The course is very challenging and in awesome shape. I played by myself and made it through at a great pace. I M seriously considering becoming a member if The Elks Lodge to have unlimited access - it's that good.
This is the best course that I've played all year, and I've played a few country clubs this year. The course was pristine and challenging.
This is the best course that I've played this year. I played here in an outing earlier on and loved the course. It's difficult but not super hard, and there isn't a single "dumb" hole on any of the 3 nines. I hate when you pay a lot for a course and you get out there and they have a 100 yard par 3 that's flat with out any danger. This course will not disappoint. The greens are lightning quick, nice fluffy sand, and overall a good challenge for your mid to low HC golfer.
What a Gem.
We really enjoyed this course and cant wait to go back.
I am considering a membership.
Nice course
Like the layout. The greens are excellent and the fairways are very good. Nice course to play.
best course i have played all year
pristine condition I took someone from out of town and they loved it
perfect
first time playing course I was very impressed excellent
Very nice
We could not have been more pleased. ,,,Well.... They did make us tuck our shirts in. We all found that a bit much, but its their club. Some blind shots for sure, but 2 of us had played it once before ( for $60 ). The greens are like glass and the ruff is not deadly. In fact, 3 of us did not loose a ball. The bunkers were only greenside, but in great shape.
For $35 , I feel blessed. Golfnow.com rocks and I hope I find that deal again !
Tougher tan it looks on the scorecard
Second fastest greens I have played this year. Reading putts is very difficult. Not a lazy putters golf course.
Great layout, well maintained, friendly staff. All three nines offer a good mix of challenge and playability.
Three very good nines; well maintained and thoughtfully laid out. Every club in the bag will be tested. Nice balance of challenge and playability.
Great Donald Ross designed course
False fronts on the greens, fast greens, and very good conditions
Good Greens and fairways.
Nice Course, has rolling hills with good fairways and consistant ruff.
Great Classic Course
Played on a Thursday afternoon and 3 of us played in well under 4 hours. The course was in great condition; the fairways were well manicured, the greens were fast and the tees were flawless. This is a Donald Ross design, and his trademarks are everywhere. Long par 3s, undulating greens with a lot of false fronts. Only paid $14 each on Golfnow, and I feel like I got a steal! Cannot wait to play this course again. One caveat, I am a huge fan of Donald Ross courses, so my bias may have caused me to rate this course a little higher than others might. But the condition and the pace of play were well worth the rating.
Enjoyed the course
Great deal, friendly staff. Course was tight and tough, but well maintained. Several holes had blind shots that required some advance knowledge. Hope to play them again!
Great Donald Ross design with classic undulating fairways and elevated greens to test your distance perception.
I recommend this course for it's walkability. Walking is not discouraged like many other courses. For those of us who strongly desire to play the game as it was meant to be played, this course is the one for you.
Nice course. A little tough for a hacker.
Too many shots where you can't see it land. If you're not in the fairway, it's a hunting expedition.
Great conditions!
This course was in excellent shape on May 23rd when I played the blue and red courses. Despite the rain, fairways allowed for roll and were in immaculate shape. Greens were firm, but accepted shots with spin and balls were spinning back. Greens were also fast but not excessively so and rolled true. Course is short but very tree-lined which is a nice change of pace. Really enjoyed my time playing out there. Look for a hot deal and get a fantastic value!
